I've been using the Halo GPS dog collar for a while now and overall, I'm quite impressed. The GPS tracking works flawlessly, giving me peace of mind knowing I can locate my furry friend anytime. I love to be able to check her whereabouts and activity level while I’m not at home. Setting up the wireless fence was a breeze, and it works like a charm, keeping my dog safe within the designated area. She receives an audible tone warning when she approaches the fence, and it has already helped train her to stay away from it! We had some issues in the past with her and the neighbor dog both getting up on the fence to bark at each other, and this seems to have really helped that issue! The tutorials provided for training and usage are incredibly helpful, and the support offered in training your dog is top-notch. I appreciate the option to turn off the shock feature and rely on audible sounds and vibrations instead. Plus, the ability to send 'good dog' feedback is a unique and thoughtful touch. I’ve owned other “shock” collars in the past and they didn’t have the option to give positive feedback, so I really appreciate that feature. This is definitely so much more than a regular shock training collar! However, there are a couple of downsides, overall I find them pretty minor and I’m not unhappy with my purchase, but they are worth noting. The battery life leaves something to be desired; I find myself needing to charge it daily, averaging around 26 hours of use before needing a recharge. I’d I just use it during the day while we are gone and take it off of her at night, I can get two days of use. We have solved this problem by regularly taking it off at night and leaving it charging, and then putting it back on her in the morning before we leave, but in terms of leaving her for the occasional overnight on her own, I’ll be probably have someone come by and charge it, because the peace of mind I get being able to check on her has become really important to me! Additionally, the collar is a bit bulky, which may bother some dogs. She’s pretty little, so as you can see in the photos, it does look a little bulky, but she doesn’t seem to mind it at all. In fact, putting it on coincides with “treat time”- so I think she looks forward to it. ☺️ While the monthly subscription seems unnecessary given the price of the collar, I understand that it supports the array of features offered. I wish we had been using this since she was a puppy, because the training features are so cool! Overall, despite a few minor drawbacks, this Halo GPS dog collar is a reliable and effective tool, and I’m super happy with my purchase, and so is my dog! 🐾 ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I researched many different brands before deciding on Halo. I purchased two collars - one for my 56 lbs Shep mix and one for my 12 lbs Chihuahua mix. The collar for my Chihuahua mix was just adjustable enough to effectively fit his 11.5 inch neck, although he looks a little ridiculous wearing it, resembling a life preserver around his neck (I would immediately buy a smaller version if Halo came out with one). We live on unfenced two acres with no cell reception. We have WiFi boosters on the property, although I am not sure if this enhances the function of the collars. The collars were incredibly easy to adjust to the size of the dogs and even easier to connect to our Wifi. Setting up the collars and n the app was a breeze. The instructional videos are very helpful. The map boundaries were trial and error, but still easy enough. I walked the property with a collar instead of having my dogs wear them until I was comfortable with the boundaries. My only challenge is while on our covered second story deck, the collars sometimes give a boundary warning and correction even though the actual boundary line is 30 yards away. I am going to purchase additional beacons to ignore fences while on the deck to see if this will correct the problem. I used the beacons that were included with the collars to ignore fences while in my house because one side of my property line is very close to my house and my dogs would get corrected near their favorite window. The collars deter my dogs from chasing deer across the road (my property is at an intersection with forests on all sides) and going out on the roads to greet pedestrians, Mail carriers, UPS, etc. I keep the collars charging by my back door when the dogs are not wearing them. If I forget to charge them, the app notifies me when a collar needs to be charged. Keeping them charging also allows for updates to occur. I've been outside with my dogs for 8 hours and the charge lasts the entire time. Both my dogs were trained on remote collars before the halo collars so they were familiar with the warning beeps and easily transitioned to the halo collars. The tracking on the virtual map is really good so I know where the dogs are at all times if they are not in my direct line of site. I regret purchasing the yellow cover for my smaller dog because it shows the dirt quickly; however the cover washes well. The buckles and collars are high quality. I don't expect them to crack or break. We live in the Pacific Northwest, so rain is always a factor and has never been a problem with these collars. My dogs do not like water, so I cannot attest to how the color would function if submerged. ... show more
