First off I can't wait for Halloween and these hands in the yard with my other decorations are going to be awesome.

I'll be the first to admit that our Halloween decorations need some help. Usually it's a last minute kind of thing, so when I saw these, I knew that they could only improve our Halloween game. First and foremost, as you can see from my photos, these don't need the lights to look good--they're pretty ghoulish in the day light. The lights are simply wired fairy lights (the kind with the very thin wires) that have been wrapped around the plastic arms. That is to say that the lights aren't integrated into the actual arms, and that may prove to be a weak point for these over the long haul. When I ordered these, I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize that it came with a remote control to turn the lights on/off and change the light settings. It was a nice surprise. However, the box doesn't include any instructions on the different settings, etc. That's all in the product listing photos, so I encourage you to print the photos out now so you have them for the future (note to the manufacturer--you really should include a hardcopy of the instructions rather than relying on the purchaser having to come back to the listing for that information). My biggest concern is where the wire that runs between the individual arms connects with the fairy lights wrapped around each arm. As you can see from my photo, it's a soldered connection, but it's sort of dangling out on its own. This strikes me as a real weak point that should be reinforced. I may try to zip tie the heavier black wire to the base of each arm so that the stronger wire takes most of the strain. Overall, I think these will be fun decorations to have for Halloween. At full retail price, I think it's a bit overpriced, but with the current 50% off coupon, I think it's a reasonable value.
