I expected ethese shorts to be coarse and worried they would be too small, but they fit great and are very comfortable! The fabric is very thin, but the weave reminds me of my regular rip-stop clothing. The waistband is elastic and fits snugly (I could wear these without a belt), but the legs also fit well without being tight against the skin. The fabric looks like a thin cotton but it’s actually a little stretchy (like spandex). I’m not sure how to describe it - they look like regular shorts, feel dry like cotton, don’t tightly hug the legs, but can stretch when needed and are very, very comfortable! There are two front pockets, two back pockets, and one zippered pocket on the right leg. The zipper is well made and the material lining that pocket’s zipper shield it inside. Due to the close (but not tight) fit of these shorts the pockets may be too tight for a handful of keys or other clutter, but for a simple keyfob or small pocketknife they should work fine. Pros: - very nice look - perfect fit - very comfortable design - lightweight - fast drying Cons: - great for casual wear but don’t slide down mountains on a regular basis - close-fit reduces pocket/hand capacity These are great shorts! These shorts are so comfortable it's amazing. They look great too. Get them wet in any manner and they're dry in 10 or 15 minutes. How can one go wrong? The material is stretchy to the point that it won't come apart at the seams. I really like these shorts for almost any shorts-wearing occasion. Shopping, boating, visiting friends...you name it. Pros: Lightweight. Very stretchy. Quick drying. True to size. True to color. Excellent quality of construction--most seams are double-stitched and flat felled, or at the very least double mock-felled in a few locations. Quality and comfort seem to be on par with my Columbia brand hiking shorts. Cons: While these are just as good quality as my Columbia or Eddie Bauer shorts, they also cost the same as those brands. Usually the point of buying an unknown off-brand product is that it comes a little cheaper, which unfortunately is not the case here. Final thoughts: These are great shorts and deserve a 5-star rating for their quality and features. However, they are currently priced the same as the well-known outfitter brands. My general feeling is that if they drop the price or put these on sale then they are a great buy, but if they keep them priced just as high as the brand-name products you might as well just buy the brand name so that you can access their warranties and in-store exchanges in case anything goes wrong. ... show more

I think these shorts are really cool & comfortable. The material is soft, stretchy and dries quickly. All zippers work well and seams are well stitched. I like the fact that they are a loose fit and have longer legs (10" inseam), but I'm an older guy. Wife says they look good. I think they are very comparable to the outdoor brand names at similar price point. Read the size chart. I typically wear a 36-38 waist. Some 36's are snug, so I ordered the L (w 37-41) to be safe. The waist is not snug, as expected and they stay up fine on their own. But I need to wear a belt to keep them at my waist if I load up the pockets with the usual phone, wallet, keys & change. The front pockets a pretty straight, top entry - like jeans. Takes some getting used to. ... show more
