I needed new curtains in my bedroom and these work very well. They do a great job of blocking out light, as they don't have grommets. Heavy fabric that looks like I spent more than I did. I like that these curtains have some weight to them. The quality is great, especially for the price. I bought 96 & 84 inch lengths. I didn't notice any smell when first opened. I did iron them prior to installing. The loops on the back make it easy to open and close. They are not fully blackout, but for me it's enough. The pictures show the difference in the same light with them open and closed. I love them so much that I plan on buying different colors to go with different duvet sets. ... show more

Very nice curtains, as far as quality and weight of fabric, but they were not “black out”, as described. They definitely filtered the light, but no darkening whatsoever. I will be returning them unfortunately.
