These curtains are absolutely gorgeous! They add a bit of color without being garish or overpowering. They are not 100% blackout, but they do block I would say 80% of the light (I also have blinds, so with both closed my room is 100% dark. I live in an apt with cheap tin lined windows and the material is thick enough to block minor drafts that come through (in the interest of full disclosure, I live in California and it rarely goes below 30 in the winter). First off, These Curtains are very beautiful and I mean beautiful. They will make your room look so amazing. The fabric is thick but not to thick and they have a good weight to them. The smell is not so great, they have a new kind of smell to them not an awful smell but not a sweet smell either. I would advise to wash them before putting them up. I place mines in the front room to match my sofas and walls. The sofas are brown with floral black and the walls is a light blue just like the Blackout curtains. The shipping time was reasonable and everything looks like in the display picture on Amazon but just much more better in person. Overall I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to spice up your room and give it the look of the century. ... show more
