I bought 3 sets of these last winter to hang over the doorways (at the exits and basement) in my old Victorian home. Our heating bill was outrageous the first year we moved in, so I opted for a cost-effective solution to conserve heat by eliminating SO MUCH draft - these are HEAVY, thick, double lined (the back is a white thermal layer that makes all the difference and why this product is superior to others). These are also total blackout and elegant looking - love the tassel borders! side note: in addition to these drapes blocking the cold draft from coming in through the doors of my home, I also bought a few tubes of clear caulking and sealed the baseboards of the entire first floor - as well as - purchasing a couple boxes of foam outlet covers that you place under the switch plates and socket plates, which block SO MUCH draft you don’t even realize is flowing through your light switches and sockets. Spent about $200 and saved about 10 times as much! Heating bill was down 62% this past winter! #winning

We have eastern-facing windows that sunlight pours through at 5 AM, and our neighbors have a very bright motion detection light that often comes on during the night. So we need blackout curtains! I had two pair I was happy with that I got at a curtain store years ago. They were super thick and heavy and when I ordered these, I thought they were beautiful and good quality, but I had no idea if they'd work as blackout curtains. They do! These curtain are not only gorgeous--they feel silky and light--but they really work. They're lined with black fabric which blocks the light. I took 3 pics, all of the same curtains, while the sun was shining brightly midday. One shows the color of the curtains when closed. The other two show the same curtains partially pulled back, to show how much sunlight the curtains block. The curtains are light gray and don't look this dark in the room, just trying to show how well they do block sunlight. In terms of color, if this helps anyone: I ordered the Pumice Stone and Dove Gray. Both are beautiful, but the Dove Gray is more of a true soft gray, while pumice stone is a nice beige-gray color. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I work night shift at a hospital, so good quality blackout blinds are an absolute godsend. I've had these for a few months before writing a review and I have to say these are the best I've come across - hands down. They are very thick, come in a variety of colors, and they look great. I took these pictures at 3pm...when they are shut during the day I can barely see in my room, I have to always turn a light on. They make sleeping during the day easy. They came wrinkle free, I have also washed them once on a regular cycle after I had some construction going on in my home and they didn't pill, wrinkle, or unravel. Love these curtains!

Overall pretty good. A lot of light comes through the bottom of course. They seem to insulate heat and make our bedroom pretty toasty. As far as blocking light, they block most of it during the day. Our neighbors all have “security lights” on all night - which by the way is terrible for night critters and causes deaths in bats and insects. These curtains block all of that annoying “security light” so I don’t have to wear a mask.

These curtains really do darken my bedroom. So much better than the light filtering curtains I had before. Good value for money. Thickness is great because I can't see the light coming through the window at all. Not very wrinkled as they were washed and taken immediately out of the dryer and hung them up. I finally broke down and bought black outs for my bedroom. I live in Florida and the second half of the day (2 pm and on) the sun beats down on my sliding glass doors in my bedroom and makes it the hottest room in the house. In the summer, my bedroom won't cool down much until 9 pm or after. Note that I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment and don't have a need to keep my AC any lower than 77 or it gets way to cold in the rest of the house. My place is brick and retains the cool air. I keep my blinds shut in the bedroom at all times and I finally decided to try these curtains. They are soft, 84" are perfect fit for sliding glass doors, and they are not very heavy at all. I do recommend that if you're using regular curtain rods to get a middle support hook to help support them. I did because the door is wide and I feel that's why maybe some people have said they are heavy. I think it's all in the type of rod you use. I got the burgundy, and they are true burgundy. Also, because of the way I have the curtain rods in the wall my room is not totally blacked out, which is the way I wanted it. I need to have a little light in my life and not feel like I'm living in a cave! I'm hoping this makes a difference in keeping the room cooler and maybe helps with my electric bill. I will come back and edit the review once I get the new bill and let you know.
