This thing has totally protected me going down off road on two separate occasions. The hard shells in the elbow, fore arm and shoulders are so necessary. Once you get the fitment right and you are out riding, you won’t feel restricted in the ways you need to move on the bike. Tightening straps and thumb holes are really worth it. My Buddy went down with his high tech soft $300 leatt jersey and it was useless. The moment he hit the ground the sleeves went up his arm and he completely jacked his elbow up. I’ve been down fairly hard twice and just brushed the dirt off, caught my breath and got back on the bike. My only complaint is that I’ma bigger guy and the Velcro on the large waist belt doesn’t stay connected always, especially when I’m riding hard. I ordered the XXXL since I am 250lbs and nearly 6' tall. It fits perfect! It's actually pretty nice especially for the price. I can't compare it to a higher end brand, but this is perfect for my first chest armor for down hilling. Before putting it on, make sure all straps are secured. There were two on each shoulder area that were not strapped. The spine is velcro'd, but it also has side zippers near the shoulder area. Have someone near you to help put it on the first time, to make sure you have everything zipped up and strapped. Also, test fit a jersey or shirt to make sure everything fits properly. My hoodie fit right over no problem. UPDATE: I used the armor today, not by choice, and it held up fine. I took a violent crash and the trails were frozen solid. I landed directly on my left shoulder and forearm while downhilling. I’m am hurting big time, but I would imagine I would have received more damage if I didn’t have it. The crash shredded my hoodie, but better than my arm. ... show more

Likes: * Fit is very good. I'm 207, 5'11, 32 inch waist. The 2XL (XXL) fits near perfect. *lots of adjustment via cinch straps,adjustable elastic straps and the waist (kidney belt). *Stays put while riding *Pads and armor line-up properly with shoulder and elbow joints *Breathes very well *Articulation is not hampered and no weird "pinchy" spots or pressure points (Even with a CE armored mesh jacket over it) * Arm armor includes upper and lower outer sections(Humerus and Ulna). The Radius is to the inside and not as exposed. *Can be worn with my usual mesh jacket(or rain gear) over top of it,without too much restriction. * Tough ,thick,articulated composite armor riveted over articulated "CE Style" soft (but dense) armor padding on the back plates that extend from lumbar, the entire back up to the center Rhomboids past the shoulder blades. *Armor, plus padding equals about 3/4 inch or more,at thickest areas. Dislikes: *The Elastic" kidney belt"is weak elastic.It's there to keep the waist section taught,not for any real support. Certainly not an actual supportive device. But they don't claim it to be either, so no points taken away for this. * The mesh liner itself (not the armor padding) is VERY thin and light.Not structural,but does keep all pads in proper orientation. *No side protection(Ribs) But they don't advertise as having any ,therefor, no points taken away..Just mentioning it. *No Abdominal protection,again just mentioning it.No points deducted. This can be worn comfortably under a casual jacket for a quick trip to the store without feeling the need to strip off all your gear just to get a few items..and still get the protection you need from the slide. If it's hot out...Florida summers, this would be a viable option sans real riding jacket. I see too many riders without gear because it's "TOOOHHoTT"! This jacket gives you no excuse. It would be nice to get this in GREY or TAN to offset the solar absorption of black,though. Overall 4 stars ..only because of the super thin (fine) mesh,a thicker structural mesh would support a bit better. Remember to "Size-up" .These are in Asian sizing. ... show more

I have to admit that I haven't crashed while wearing it, but can tell that it will do the job. My only complaint is that the back plate is long and sometimes catches on the outside of the pants. To prevent this, I have had to wear a pair of crash pants that overlap the plate. That allows the jersey to stay over them. ... show more

I bought this for riding my onewheel, and for that purpose its great. The material feels really cheap, the zipper barely works, and I'm sure after 1 fall something is going to completely rip. The great thing though is that the plastic pieces are actual hard plastic, so the protection is there. I am 5'9 170lbs and I bought a xxl an it fits just right. It almost feels like this a product for children being advertised for adults. I must repeat, DO NOT BUY THIS FOR RIDING MOTORCYCLES! I have over 60,000 miles on my current bike, and I can tell you right now, this will never protect you from a fall off a motorcycle. If you where to fall at anything past 25 miles an hour, this thing will disintegrate, along with your skin. There is no way this thing should be advertised as motorcycle protection, and it will lead people to injuries in the future when they think they are safe. But if you are looking to get this for longboarding or riding a onewheel, then its a great cheap option. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND GET AN ACTUAL JACKET FOR YOU MOTORYCLE.
