  • Worked great re-soling Crocs
Color: Black
Since some people don't seem to know how to resole shoes, lemme provide a quick explanation how it's properly done: First, you need clean and flat surfaces. I used a drum sander to flatten out my crocs. Then you need to clean both surfaces with acetone really well. THEN you put down the contact cement. I used Weldwood from the Ace Hardware. It works perfect. The trick is to use a heat gun to dry out the cement, and then you put the sole on. It IMMEDIATELY sticks so get it right the first time. Then after it's down I put the croc in my shoe anvil and hit the sole with a hammer a few hundred times to really stick the sole on. Then I trim the extra sole down, and sand it smooth on the drum sander. I love Crocs, but I hate that they become very slippery quickly after they're new because of how fast the soles wear down. I walk my dog a lot in Florida and there's puddles everywhere half the year. I'm a hobbyist cobbler so this project was super easy. I knew they DON'T come with adhesive! I used my drum sander to sand down the bottoms of the Crocs, then scuffed the flat surface of these soles and used contact adhesive to hold them together. After some trimming of the extra I went back to the drum sander to round off the corners and smooth out the transitions. They work great! And the bottoms will now last a lot longer. ... show more

  • Good product but take work to put them on
Color: Black
nice tread on bottom very strong material, it’s a bit hard to cut . for me after I glued it on using a combo of barge cement and shoe goo on the edges . Then held in place with several clamps for 24 hours . After this I used an razor knife to trim edges and a grinder to sand them smooth and flush .. Now telling you all this it’s hard durable material but don’t think you can just slap it together and it will hold it be as good as new .. It take time and some tools .. ... show more

  • Seemed good but were too short for my needs
Color: Black
Bought them to sole the bottom of worn out crocs. They were 1/2" - 1" too short for size 10 mens crocs.

  • Did not work on my Sketcher's Hikers- Updated review, worked on 2nd attempt
Color: Black
I liked my Sketchers, which I paid $40, I guess that is not a lot of money these days, and while the tops held up well, the soles wore down very quickly. I decided to try and retread them, something I have not done before. The retreads were a bit small and did not need to be cut even though my size is only 9. It is a wide shoe for the size, probably because they are hikers, not just tennis shoes. Anyway, they did not come with shoe contact cement, which I bought separately from Amazon (Angelus Brand). No directions on the product but I did watch the video and the contact cement had instructions. In short, the glue did not adhere well to the retreads and was particularly weak on the heals and toe tips. The glue stuck fairly well on the shoes themselves. So, is the problem the resoles or the glue? Quien sabe? I paid $16 for the 4oz contact cement and $10 for this product in a failed attempted to self repair a $40 shoe. Still, I learned something. However, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product. Sorry :( Edit: Second crack at the repair seemed to work better. The retreads do not adhere well to the contact cement that I bought, so I repeated the repair this time pressing the parts together much quicker (contact cement instructions indicated 15 minutes). At even 10 minutes, the contact cement lost its tackiness. The heels and tips did not work at all as they were curved surfaces, so I finished them off with using a tube of Shoe Goo with clamping. Not a perfect repair and I won't try such a repair again, but good enough to elevate my stars from 1 to 3. Good luck!! ... show more

  • Great Fix For Slick Crocs
Color: Black
We read another review where a guy fixed his crocs, so we bought this thick and high traction, agressive tread sole and sanded down his crocs (swiftwater style which are hard to find and expensive to replace), and glued with contact cement and clamps. Worked great! The repair increased weight of the crocs, but now they are safe to wear on wet or smooth surfaces and will last many years to come! My husband is anxious to use them this summer at creeks, beaches and for hiking and fishing. ... show more

  • Tough but didn't stick
Color: Yellow
these soles are tough but did not stick to the boots. Tried 2 types of glue, Shoo-Goo and Weldwood Contact Cement. Gave it a try though.
