  • Too Much Fun
Platform For Display: PlayStation2 Edition: Wireless bundle
I have to tell you at 48 years old I was a little hesitant; it took me a minute to get past the 'I can't imagine how this looks' but, once I got over that it was a total blast. It's a hoot ! You probably still have that air guitar stuffed away but, with this game there is no reason to take that out; Seriously, don't take that out (lots of laughs). Instead, let yourself have some fun and try this. After you do, like me and everyone I know, you'll be glad you did. UPDATE (the review I posted a few months after my purchase): It took a bit of convincing but I'm happy to say I now have a band: A friend of mine who for a minute there was wishing she wasn't, weighing in at 52 years old, is on drums; my neighbor who overheard us and unknowingly just came over to see what was going on, weighing in at 58 years old, is on bass; and the cousin who I knew could carry a tune, weighing in at 45 years old, is on the mic; , And finally, yours truly, on lead guitar. It's been a nice break. We let loose and have so much fun. I no longer have high blood pressure, I feel great and that's really all that it's about. So to the rest of you "Boomers"; Take Care, Always Be Cool, and Don't Forget Where You Came From. ... show more

  • Just awesome
Platform For Display: PlayStation2 Edition: Wireless bundle
This game is the type of game you could either play like its an addiction, or have sitting around for when you are bored. It never gets old, and even once you master Expert, its still fun going back and playing on all the other difficulties. The game is easy enough that with enough practice you can master any song on any difficulty, but its hard enough that you know the songs are challenges and you get a sense of pride after completing a song. ... show more

  • A Wonderful Escape While in Iraq
Platform For Display: PlayStation2 Edition: Wireless bundle
I ordered this game when I first got to Iraq, almost a year ago. I figured this game could serve as something to do in between my down-time, maybe not dwell as much on how much I miss my family. Almost a year later and I give a lot of credit for this game getting me through some tough times. Sometimes you'd like an escape from reality, forget where you are for just a little while, and when I play this game that is exactly what happens. For a moment in time I feel like a rockstar and playing is extremely satisfying (yet challenging for me). When I first got this game I played it in easy mode, beat it got bored and tried it on medium. It took a couple of weeks to learn to use the blue button but then I mastered that and got bored and went to using the orange button on hard. I'll have to say, my biggest complaint about this game was that the jump from medium to hard was huge...they throw 3 button combos at you and it moves really fast, while at the same time you're trying to just learn how to use an additional orange button, and move your hand up and down. I got really frustrated with the game but kept on persisting to try to learn. After, a couple of months I was able to get through some songs on hard albeit a very painful road. As of today, I play the game on Expert and usually 3 or 4 star the songs. The only 5 star on expert that I got was on my "My Name is Jonas" so I'm still learning, but the transition from hard to expert was fairly easy...nothing compared from going from medium to hard. Not sure if the other guitar hero games had these kinds of transitions in difficulty, as this was my first guitar hero experience. The guitar is well constructed, I haven't had any problems with the buttons on the guitar or the issue that people mentioned with the neck of the guitar coming loose etc. For the last 11 months, the guitar has held up to the Iraqi heat and dust without any problems or maintenance. I've only changed out the batteries onces since I've purchased this and no connectivity issues with the PS2, its pretty simple - just turn it on. The only gripe I have is sometimes the star power will activate even though I didn't tilt the guitar or hit the select key...not all the time just every onece in a while. All in all, in a silly kind of way, playing this game is extremely rewarding for me, I enjoy it and think the soundtrack is pretty good (my favs: paint it black, black magic woman and cliffs of dover). I don't get to play every day but when I do play, it's a treat. Whether my logic is right or wrong on this, I like that fact that I forget where I'm at...if just for a moment. ... show more

  • Good job!!
Platform For Display: PlayStation2 Edition: Wireless bundle
This is by far one of my favorite PS2 games. Ordered from the seller Hendo's Discounts. The disc itself arrived with some scratches and fingerprints but its still playable and does not lag. A bonus that I got a guitar and the very rare dongle receiver included.

  • Comes with a game, wireless controller, but no wireless receiver...
Platform For Display: PlayStation2 Edition: Wireless bundle
It seems like other people have reported the same thing, I ordered the wireless bundle which came with the wireless guitar, the game, the strap, but the wireless receiver did not come with it making the controller useless. The receiver is another $30 so I just bought an old wired one for cheaper than that. If I had known that ahead of time I certainly would NOT have purchased this. I'll probably get a receiver too for when I have friends over, but that's just not what was advertised, it's extremely misleading at best. ... show more

  • Makes you feel like a rock star!
Platform For Display: PlayStation2 Edition: Wireless bundle
Makes you feel like a rock star! No matter how fat and lazy you are, you can get good at this game and fake people will cheer! This makes you happy, and happy people don't go on killing sprees, this is why I recommend this product.
