Description

While inheriting the basic functions and design philosophy of the current PlayStation 2, the internal design architecture of this newly redesigned PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system model has been completely overhauled. Slimmer and more lightweight, its internal volume has been reduced by 75 percent, overall weight has been halved and the thickness trimmed down to 2.8cm (thickness of current model is 7.8cm). Its size is almost as small as a hardcover book, making it easier to carry around. Equipped with both a modem port and an integrated Ethernet port for network gaming, the new PlayStation 2 sets new standards in the fusion of design and functionality.

The media could not be loaded. I am currently unboxing this “renewed” PS2. I think the console it’s an alright conditions. I’ve bought renewed product from Amazon before and they have been way cleaner than this console. You would expect to be in somewhat of a better condition. Anyways, it’s cool that it arrived relatively soon. Will give a try and see if it works. I was able to finally try it out and sadly it does not work. When I inserted the game the PS2 makes a noise that is definitely not normal. The problem is the CD reader. Can we please get this issue resolved? ... show more

    • Console's great, but the controler was damaged.
The console itself works great so far and is in good condition apart from some small scratches on the outside. The only disappointment was the controller. The cord and one analog stick were already damaged and the controller only works for about 30 seconds before disconnecting. Highly recommended if all you need is the console and cords, but they evidently will ship very obviously damaged controllers. ... show more

    • Perfect for Your Old PS2 Games!
My sister was really nostalgic for her old PS2 game sand since the new consoles aren't backwards compatible, I wanted to get her a PS2 - but was worried about getting a refurbished one. We'd never got something refurbished and I worried that some parts might be missing or it might not work consistently. When we got it in, it had everything we needed and worked perfectly right away! No issues, over a month in! It doesn't come in its originally packaging, but we didn't expect it to. It has everything you need and looked great.     • Disappointment
The item I received, wasn't within the parameters set forth by Amazon. The "Renewed" statement by Amazon says that an item, that is renewed, has very little in the way of scratches while looking at it at 12 inches. And that the item has been cleaned, repaired if necessary and tested for functionality. And therefore it is Guaranteed to be fully functional. Well... here is a list of issues that I found. It was obvious that this PlayStation 2 console had never been taken apart cleaned. Dust is/was throughout the systems vents. And... who ever owned it prior was a smoker...there is evidence of smoke tar in the unit and I could smell it. The Disk cover is damaged....it will make a popping/crunching sound when opened or closed --Note: it doesn't do this each and every time you open/close it. Someone installed, what I would call "Stickers", to deceptively cover heavy scratching and dings that are on top of the console. It is/was obvious that this PS2 console has been beat on badly in the past and is in dire need of some TLC. In my opinion, the optical drive needs to be replaced and the entire inside needs to be cleaned. The Scratches and Dings on the outside of the console wouldn't have bothered me at all, if the system was indeed cleaned, tested and fully functional. Please note: I removed the "Stickers" ….. Because, the one on the Disk cover had stuck to the side of the console and prevented me from opening the cover to install a game disk. Amazon … if you are viewing this review. I recommend that who ever supposedly cleaned, tested and repaired this unit... needs to be fired and never used for any future "Renewed" products ... show more
