Description

While inheriting the basic functions and design philosophy of the current PlayStation 2, the internal design architecture of this newly redesigned PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system model has been completely overhauled. Slimmer and more lightweight, its internal volume has been reduced by 75 percent, overall weight has been halved and the thickness trimmed down to 2.8cm (thickness of current model is 7.8cm). Its size is almost as small as a hardcover book, making it easier to carry around. Equipped with both a modem port and an integrated Ethernet port for network gaming, the new PlayStation 2 sets new standards in the fusion of design and functionality.

I've always been a loyal PlayStation user, ever since the original PS-1. The PS2, when it came out had some excellent and well done titles, Gran Turismo 4, Star Wars Jedi Power battles, the Lord of the Rings games based on the movies that had come out around the time the console was introduced. For the time, and the console, these offerings were very good. I also found some rarer titles that were just as entertaining. It's a good console that packs a lot in for what it is.     • Do they make sure everything works? Because it didn't for me...
After waiting a month for it to be shipped overseas to my country, I was greatly dissapointed to find out that the AC power adapter wasn't working. It was only because I was able to get a local elecronic to fix it has it been working. Very frustrating to wait so long for something only for it to not work properly from the box. ... show more

Exactly what you'd expect with a refurbished PS2. Good condition, works just fine, only minor scuffs on the outside.

    • Easy fix with a common problem with ps2 slims.
This is nice but one problem with a quick fix. The ps2 slim have been known to scratch your games. The fix is easy so here it goes. All you have to do is make sure that the bronze gold like looking strip inside the disc cargo is pushed down. The disc if not careful can rub up against the strip. It is the strip inside. There is a video on YouTube about this. After I did this it took care of the problem. Now I need to get a stripdr that fixes your disc stracthes. Other than that this is a nice product. Once again this issue is not a seller issue but a flaw with the ps2 slims. ... show more

I purchased this item twice, the first time, the power button stopped working after a few months. I bought a replacement, and literally within 30 minutes of using it, it stopped being able to read games. Do yourself a favor and buy your PS2 from legitimately anybody else

Console was in great condition and works just as it should. Controller was an aftermarket random one that has very poor joysticks with enormous dead zones.

After reading some of the negative reviews I was a little concerned about ordering this. It came very well packed. I did not expect new condition. It has a few minor scratches, but that doesn't make it work. Got it set up and it works great! My last ps2 I had bought used, locally and it worked for several years.     • System quit working
I've had 2 systems so far and both have broken. I have to return the second 1 and hopefully the 3rd 1 is working properly. This was in the course of 2 months. Thought since they had good reviews that it would be good. Very disappointed.
