The converter only works to convert video at 480p, meaning some games will NOT work with a converter. For example, ICO will work for pre-rendered cutscenes which exist at 480p, but gameplay and menus will show a black screen due to them being rendered at 240p. It’s worth the money having an led tv and trying to play ps3 with an av to hdmi adapter just makes your tv look blurry and not clear but with this it made my tv look clear and better

Of course today's video game graphics far surpass what was out 20 yrs ago. But even with all of that I'm an old school guy and recently found a local place where they sell retro gaming. I bought a PS2 for the simple purpose of a select few favorite games of all time of mine. PS2s working thank goodness. Noticed that for some games the visuals haven't aged quite well throughout the years. So one day I randomly stumbled across this product. I was skeptical of course because I figured it's too good to be true. Well turns out I was happily mistaken lol. This thing works and you can see the difference. The picture is much more sharp and vibrant. It won't turn the image into 4k or anything wild like that but it's HD non the less. And for the price it's not too shabby. I love that I can play my ps2 on any tv or monitor now. HOWEVER, this does not support the original PlayStation games. As such you will not be able to play your PS1 games with this cord so I recommend saving your vga color cords
