I have hung many stands. This ladder style is easily my favorite - the price is right and it’s durable. But what sets it apart is the ease of assembly when you’re in the woods hanging it. Utilizing the pins to connect ladder sections allows you to skip bringing wrenches and tools into the field (where they have a way of disappearing). I do upgrade these ladders with two basic additions. Grip tape added to the steps (see photo) and a few heavy duty ratchet straps to make it rock solid against the tree.

I have never left a review but this deserves it. Within 5 min of me receiving the package I was assembling the climbing sticks in the front yard. I read all the instructions and assembled accordingly. I attached the first section of steps and while attaching the second I realized that the attached screw was bent and about to shear off. I hunt at least a mile from any road and with no service. If this broke on me lots of bad would follow. After handling the climbing sticks I thought it felt a bit cheap, after climbing on it for less that a minute I know it is. I rarely try to save money by cutting corners and I did this time. I won’t again. Cry once, buy something better quality especially when it’s a safety item. Lesson learned.
