  • A price bargain for all the bells and whistles
Pros: 1. Flip-up seat 2. Flip-up shooting rail 3. Flip-up foot rest 4. HUGE platform area for comfortable sitting and placing pack, etc 5. Good height to seat 6. Expanded metal foot platform 7. Armrests high enough for safety and low enough for archery 8. Should be very stable (haven't set it on a tree, yet) with its twin stabilizer bars, criss-crossed and ratchet straps, and pinned/sleeved ladder extensions Cons: 1. Assembly takes way too long: bulk-packaged hardware, metric sizes; but, you only have to do it once. 2. Paint quality is a joke; you can flake it off with a fingernail 3. Seat platform is horizontal bars, not expanded mesh; will likely become uncomfortable if you sit for hours 4. Cushion fabric is noisy ... show more

  • Height worth the money
If you bow hunt you know the advantages of getting just a tad higher on scent leary game. Well having private hunt land I have gone to all ladders and blinds leaving climbers. This stand is good for the money. Use an extra long ratchet strap around legs midway to sturday while tying off. Throw a rope over a limb and pull up to help hold if available. always use a lifting partner. You can also put a tree step in once installed to help lower down to move. Anyone who has used tools can assemble. If you use multiple locations this is also a good route. If you want just one stand to be your penthouse suite then look at an upgrade. If your a girly man and cant get your hands dirty with tools or a little lifting buy a blind. As always use common sense, a safety harness and hunt safe. ... show more

  • Damaged twice and Poor assembly instructions
Received order with anticipation to use the following hunting weekend. Package came in damaged thanks to FedEx and missing all hardware to assemble. Contacted Sportsman Guide, they were understanding and helpful. Sent another stand out within a week and had the 1st one picked up. 2nd stand came in and the package was worse than the 1st but had all assembly parts and hardware. Took pics with the FedEx person and package. Needless to say I was not a happy individual! The stand weighs 75 lbs and looked like it had been dropped from every truck in route! After opening the already torn box, even though parts were scratched i was willing to just spray paint over, so I could at least use for the season and not go through the hassle of dealing with what would have been the same issue. None of the parts are labelled when assembling, poor instructions account for a time consuming process. Had to cut angles into the side support arms that go under the mesh floor for a proper fit. The good is when assembled it is a sturdy stand for the money. After assembling its a good idea to paint over the nuts and bolts, they rusted in one day after being out in the rain. For the time and hassle I should have just went to the local Walmart and purchased one, even if it was a few more dollars! ... show more

  • GREAT STAND ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE!!
Assembly instructions were a little sketchy but with these producst, always are. After assembly, stand is very sturdy and I really like the fact that seat area is wider than any other single person stands I have purchased in the past. Leaves room to move around a bit more. The floor area goes all the way back so you can place things such as bottles of water under the seat. One other plus to me is that the seat lifts up so you can easily stand and have a platform large enough to move for an archery shot. For the price, best fixed stand I have ever purchased. I'll get another or two for next season. ... show more

  • but it seems sturdy. I will update my rating once the season ...
I have not used this yet, but it seems sturdy. I will update my rating once the season starts and I get to use it. Took away a star (would be 2) for the HORRIBLE directions. For anyone else like me who have never put together a ladder stand, I will give you a humongous tip that made it easier for me. Measure all the screw shafts inside head to tip in MM, and label them with paper and the number screw it shows in the back. Once you do this, putting it together is a breeze. If not, it's a pain in the ass since the directions don't have the actual size labels of screws. ... show more

  • Great one man stand for the money
For the money a great stand. It's of pretty good quality and I really like it's size and the way the seat folds up and out of the way. I read in reviews before my purchase some had problems with identifying the correct bolts to the steps in the assembly and I can see why. So this is what I did I grouped the bolts by size laying them on a piece of card board and penned the size next to each group. Really solved the problem and make the stand assembly go pretty smooth. Definitely takes two people to put the stand up. ... show more

  • Very comfortable and sturdy stand
I was looking for a ladder stand 18' or taller with a metal flip up seat. This stand is exactly what I wanted and is very sturdy. As with other reviews, I found that the assembly instructions were OK but none of the pieces or bolts were labeled like other stands I have purchased. The paint did flake in a few spots but a little flat spray paint of a different color is no different than camo. ... show more
