  • much more stable than it looks much more stable than it looks
I'm a 260lb hunter. I also survived a fall from a Tree Stand 3 years ago. So I'm a little scared of them now. But, I also hunt in Central Texas Mesquite fields. Last year I hunted from a ground blind, that was nice, but I prefer to shoot down at my game. So I bought this to try it out. I put it together in my garage in about an hour. I watched a bunch of videos, and they all said 3 hours - but it took me an hour. I've worked in plenty of factories and have bunches of tools - so it might just be that I have more assembly practice. Didn't use the instructions either and didn't have any extra parts. I took it out to the cul-de-sac where I live and put it up (kind of heavy) and it wobbled so bad, that I didn't show my wife. I was afraid that she would not let me use it. However, when I took it to my hunting club - it worked great. I used straight medal tent stakes on each leg and a ratchet strap down the center to the ground (in my Alabama Hunting Club we get bad winds so i wanted it secured) and it held like a champ. Very stable (surprisingly so after setting it up in the driveway). I liked it so much, I decided to leave it in camp - and buy another one for my Texas Hunting Trip next fall! I hunt Public Land there - and will fabricate a special cart to drag it into the woods. One thing to note - the rifle rest padding is CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. I bought some plumbing insulation and some camp duct tape on Amazon and covered both the arm rests and the rifle rest. I would recommend that, and might as well do the back rest too (that is not very stout either). But overall, this is a great buy. Update... I bought the second one. Also bought the blind fot it. It is heavy now and not portable. ... show more

  • Very Sturdy Very Sturdy
Well built. Easy to assemble with just minimal tools. Easy to climb up and doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart. Sitting in it is comfortable and has a nice rotation. Very nice. May buy another one

  • Good price and seems sturdy
Searched a lot of sites, this one seemed to fit my needs. Arrived early, checked parts list and had 2 extra units. Assembly was easy, everything fit wto carry farell together. Only weighs about 70 lbs., so not difficult to set up in the field, although too heavy and awkward to carry far. Seat is reasonably comfortable, back rest cushion it too light. Had to add foam to arm rest covers and to gun rest bar, since the covers provided lack cushioning. Haven't shot from the stand, but the instructions say to stake down the feet of the tripod, wish they had been included. Overall, for the price and for my limited use, looks like it will work well. ... show more

  • Works for the price just don't expect much.
Was alot heavier than expected I suggest 2 people for set up, although can be done with one. Socket set and wrenches need for set up. Base is solid but once in chair it's a little wobbly. Worked good for my 2019 hunt however needs modifications if I decide to use for future use.

  • For under 200 dollars great buy. For under 200 dollars great buy.
I recently purchased Guide Gear Tripod hunting stand, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This stand is worth the money. I was able to carry into the woods by myself, which is a huge plus. I did take the seat off while walking to my location, which made it even more manageable. Overall, this stand offers great stability and comfort, making it a fantastic addition to my hunting gear. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Great stands
My hunting partner and I really like these stands. We are older so no longer like to climb up very high. We've both killed lots of deer from these. We modify two legs so they're adjustable. works great for the price.

  • Very easy to assemble UPDATE
Took about 30 min to assemble. If you weigh more than 200 pounds. Don’t buy it’s says 300 pound rating, not even close. The seat feels like it’s gonna snap, rocks side to side.

  • Easy to move and set up
I purchased this to hunt on a Wildlife Management Area draw hunt. I wanted something I could set up quickly in young pines that didn't allow for a climbing stand or a ladder stand. I've used it on the WMA hunt, on a leased property in another county and now on another property in another state. I can have this thing set up in a matter of seconds if I am able to drive to the spot I want to offload it at. Carrying it in is a little more difficult, but I found that strapping it to my deer cart allows me to move it quickly down trails. It doesn't appear to be tall from the ground, but the elevation really gives me a lot more perspective and increases my overall vision for the hunt. As I told the Game Warden, "This is my mobile wildlife observation platform" and he immediately said he needed one for a power-line right of way. ... show more
