I got this set knowing that I already had versions of some of the items, but there were some tools I didn't have so I wanted to try them out - plus I wear out handheld pruners every few years so it's always good to have an extra pair. If you were buying this as a newer gardener who didn't have much yet, it would be a really useful package deal. In general, most of these are basic versions that you could purchase at most stores (transplanter, hand rake, etc.). They get the job done. I think the pruners are a step above because there is no detachable spring between the two handles. My older pair has a spring that will occasionally fall off, and then I'm scrounging for it in the raspberry patch or wherever. The pruner in this set has a permanent coiled structure instead, which cannot fall off. And they came plenty sharp. I also really appreciate the foldable saw, which I haven't really seen around where I shop. I like that it collapses into the handle, like some harvest knives I own, so that I can safely lug it around the yard. I had to google how to use the weeding knife (aka serrated trowel - they call it two different things), because I thought the blade was going to be on the inside and would be like a sickle. This one is actually a weeder for cracks and moss scraping, and it did work well once I looked up how to use it... just wasn't what I had hoped it was. The gloves are thin and cheap, which is what I expected. The bag is sturdy but I don't know what I'll use it for - probably something totally unrelated to gardening. The suggestion is to keep the tools in there but that's not organized enough for me. That's fine, as I only wanted this for the tools and not the gloves or bag.

I wasn't super impressed with these garden tools. There's nothing that makes them "bad" but they're also not great. We have garden tools that are much better quality and more durable. We will see how long these ones last.

We have a tremendous amount of landscaping around our home that I maintain, so I put a lot of wear and tear on my gardening tools and equipment. This is a well-built gardening kit that covers all the bases and should provide long life for the average user. The handles are impressive! Comfortable, but I can’t imagine how they would ever break or wear out. The tote bag is nicely constructed, but the gloves are very lightweight and probably won’t hold up very long. In addition to having room for all of the tools, the bag is large enough to carry along other items like spray bottles. The foldable pruning saw is a little flimsy, but should be fine for small branches up to about 1” diameter. All of the other tools should get the job done. Built of 420 stainless, you’ll have no worries about rusting. Overall, a great little kit.

I would write this as just OK. You’re not going to be doing any heavy lifting with the this product. However, it does have a nice variety in the bag. It is very portable so all in all, I would recommend if you just wanted to do some light gardening yardwork. I don’t think it’s something that I would gift to anyone unless it was like a secret Santa type of deal but it is a decent value for the price.

I've had the opportunity to test out a few such kits over the past few months. This is the one I use the most, as it is dedicated to general landscape work. I've used the spade to loosen large river rocks that need to be removed from the first 3" of the yard. I've used the weeder and knife to remove the hard-to-kill grass and large roots. What I haven't used is the rest of the items. I came to the conclusion that I rarely need the other items. The best kit can be comprised of multiples of these three items so that multiple people can work in the same garden, doing the same thing. But, the other items are just as sturdy as the first three I mentioned. I've been using them for months on a long project involving thousands of feet of weed and large rock removal. My only complaint with this kit and others like it is that the pockets aren't deep enough for some of the scarier items to store. They really need deeper pockets, to feel safe. Bottom line: Would I order again? Yes. Would I gift? Yes.

I have over the years accumulated a number of name brand garden tools and these are comparable to the best. I used them this morning to dig up my tuberous begonias for winter storage, there were no issues. The hand grips were comfortable, nothing pulled apart and nothing bent. I had been concerned because the hand trowels were attached using a different design than my old ones (in the photo these are the green handled ones). They were stamped out of one piece of metal rather then welded . I decided to test one (photo 2) by putting the handle in a vise and placing a 10 pound lead weight on it. No problem. I also tried cutting with the hand saw which bears a remarkable resemblance to one I had previously been using (photo 3). Looks the same, cuts the same. Finally the bag that came with it holds the tools neatly and appears sturdy (photo 4). Perhaps this will cure my habit of leaving my tools scattered around the house (not likely). It occurs to me that this complete set would make an excellent house warming gift!

I am the worst at keeping my gardening tools and it drives me NUTS! This cute little tool kit was the perfect answer! The gloves fit great and all of the tools are well made. I love the bright green color as well. I am going to love using all of these next spring when I am doing more planting! It would be a great gift for a first time home owner that has not had his/her own yard yet!
