  • Love this percolator!
Color: Blue Size: 8 Cup Pattern Name: Coffee Pot
What a great buy! I have a Keurig coffee machine and ever since this little gem came, I haven't used the Keurig since. I did purchase a seperate Perma Brew 3 year reusable filter to go with it. My only complaint is the little metal piece holding the lid on the pot seems to be very flimsy so you have to take extra care when putting in the dishwasher. Otherwise it's a awesome camping gadget. It came in handy for mornings and nights last week and will continue for many years to come!! :) I highly recommend for the price, it's a great deal! ... show more

  • Poor quality inner components, but a good coffee maker for the price
Color: Blue Size: 8 Cup Pattern Name: Coffee Pot
Good coffee maker, but you definitely get what you pay for. I paid just a little over $20. The inner percolator mechanism, upon arrival, had a bent base. As I needed it for my camping trip that weekend, I didn't have time to send it back or complain. I gingerly bent it back into place and it worked fine. The inner percolator assembly, however, is very cheap feeling. I don't think it's plastic, but it's a very soft, easily broken material. In addition, the lid to the coffee basket is so soft that it doesn't really make a great seal onto the basket itself so when the water gets boiling, it has the tendency to actually push coffee grounds out of the basket and into the water. Also, the clip that holds the lid to the handle is very soft and has already broken after two uses. As for the functional aspect, it did exactly as it was supposed to. It produced a pretty darned good cup of coffee. Keep in mind that "8 Cups" is 8 6 oz cups. For the size cups we were using at my camping trip, it was more like 4 cups. Luckily, I had an airpot that I brought so I just made batches of coffee and added it to the airport/thermos for keeping warm. Bottom line: it's decent product for around $20. Handle the inner components with care and it should last you a good long while. Makes pretty good coffee, but has the tendency to include grounds. ... show more

  • Build quality issuses
Color: Blue Size: 8 Cup Pattern Name: Coffee Pot
Build quality is not good, I purchased this in a early spring in anticipation for camping later in the year. I opened the box and gave it a look over when it arrived, and the pot looked fine. A little over a month later and after the first time camping I have to say that it would have been a better idea to spend more money on a better quality coffee maker. The first issue is that their are small holes under the handle on the seam of the pot and when coffee is being made, the water/coffee mixture bubbles out and gets the stove messy. Secondly in the spout there seem to be a number of holes that were not punched out when the pot underwent the manufacturing process. I say this because the area around those holes has been pre marked and some of the holes are half cut. This makes pouring the coffee really challenging as the flow out of the spout is not correct. Lastly one use in and the small plastic cap that acts as the viewing window for the percolation had fallen out and the metal that would normally hold it in appears bent. This issue would be easily fixed with a pliiers, but I don't want to take pliiers to a new price of equipment that shouldn't need a fix so soon in the pots use. Being that I didn't notice the for over a month I a unable to return the coffee pot. With these issues fixed the pot would serve most people adequately, just give it a check over and try to use of right away to detect issues before taking the pot into the field. I would not by this item again, and would instead more expensive coffee system. ... show more

  • Functional and basic quality/design
Color: Blue Size: 8 Cup Pattern Name: Coffee Pot
I didn't want to spend a fortune on a campground coffee pot. For the price this is "functional" but you can immediately tell it's on the cheap side, and quality control is not evident. Mine arrived with chips in the coating and so it arrived with some rusted chips. The hinge that holds the lid on is a complete afterthought and is cheaply made and looks cheap. It is attached with a thin aluminum bendable band that wraps around the top of the handle. I suspect that this band will snap and break after only a few uses. So just expect that you'll need to be holding the lid on when pouring coffee. Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting high end quality at this price, so I'm OK with the flaws. P.S. I was surprised to see that people were buying this for use in their homes??? If that is what you are seeking, I would go to a garage sale or thrift store to get a higher qualify percolator designed for household use. This is definitely a cheap camping pot. ... show more

  • AH a real cup of coffee!
Color: Blue Size: 8 Cup Pattern Name: Coffee Pot
I bought this because it's a better flavor for coffee. And you can adjust weak or strong taste by grind use. I use it in Kitchen with no problems - however, the lid (which is attached to handle) does not sit flat to pot but will not cause an issue under use.
