My back door opens to the outside. The inside color is a tan color and the dark brown makes a nice subtle accent at the bottom. Instructions were easy to follow. I unrolled the strip and let it straighten out for a day or so. I measured and used scissors to cut the correct length. I used a hair dryer on high and went back and forth to help soften it a bit as directed and also help activate the adhesive. I then used the hair dryer to go back and forth on the door to warm it up as well. Finally, I peeled off the adhesive protective strip and plied to the door. After smoothing it out a few times, I used the hair dryer again to go back and forth a few more times. As per the directions, I didn’t open the door for about a day. It’s been great ever since. I used yo get a draft but no more. Heavy rains would sometimes push in water drops but no more. So, this product is doing everything I wanted to do and looks good on my door. ... show more

My back door had a wide gap with much cold air coming in so I bought a new door bottom weather strip which helped a little but not enough so I bought this draft stopper and put over the new weather strip. The feel of this rubber is different from any other I've felt. That is ment in the most positive way ! I was worried about it sticking to the door. Expected to have to put screws and washer to hold it but so far that has not been the case at all. And it's an exterior door and cold still sticking great after a month or more use. The adhesion however wasn’t as strong as I thought it would be so there’s that. a while back we got the foundation fixed in our home, unfortunately it messed up the front door a bit to where there was a small crack under it. I decided to buy these to keep the hot air from coming in and make it easier to keep the room cool. It worked amazing, the installation was easy and they stuck. The problem came this past week when it got really cold, down to 20 degrees. The cold caused the adhesive to come off. I was able to get double stick adhesive and use that. It’s still worth the buy just the adhesive isn’t meant for really cold weather ... show more

I’ve purchased other door gap covers before that we’re not adhesive so I was wary about these. If you apply them correctly and clean the door with rubbing alcohol first, they work great. They have some flexibility to do if you have plush carpets they won’t break off if they are slightly touching. I use them to dampen noise - one side of the door was ok but both sides probably dampen about 50-80%. Depends on the door though - I had to switch out my hollow-core bedroom door with a solid-core door to get any real noise dampening, these were the cherry on top. ... show more

Instant difference. Easy enough. Works at all times because it’s always in position and you don’t have to rely on anyone to put it in place. Just install it and you are done. The 4-plex we live in is 100+ years old and the main entry’s exterior door has a delightful 1-2 inch gap above the threshold. This gap allows us to feel the weather outside before we even open our eyes in the morning to see the weather out our windows. Our apartment’s front door also has a gap at the bottom. So when our heating bill hit $300 during Utah’s last winter I knew it was because all our heat was escaping through that gap while the main door gap was letting all that icy, frigid winter air into the building. So, we bought two of these 2-packs and applied them to each door, gave one to neighbor across the hall and one to neighbor in the house next door. It made a huge difference immediately. I could actually tell pretty instantly after affixing it to the main exterior door that it was preventing the cold air from entering our building. Adding it to our apt door further helped to keep the cold air out, our heat in, and I imagine the air conditioned air in later in the summer. I wish I had done this in the beginning of the cold season. It was easy to install. I cleaned the bottom of the door and dried it. Cut the piece with scissors to fit across bottom of the door and then figured out how high or low to position it so it wouldn’t get caught up on the floor or anything when in use and then peeled off the backing and attached it. I had to remove it partially and reposition and didn’t have any issues. I also installed one at the next door neighbor’s house and it made a big difference for her too. Before this, another tenant and I would always try to place one of those heavy, long, round, pillow-type deals behind the door when it was closed to wedge against the gap and block some of the cold air from entering. Those work ok-ish IF people work together and actually use them and if you can actually put them in place because when you leave for the day you can’t put it in position. This item works WAY better bc it is always in position and you don’t have to rely on anyone to keep messing with it. One and done. They should make one that goes from top to bottom so those long gaps or drafts that weather stripping can’t resolve could be helped. Might be unsightly but for some that wouldn’t matter. I guess you could use one of these to do it if you wanted. ... show more
