  • Sharp guitar
Color: Purple
I have many Grote guitars. I’ve noticed that they have been continuously improving their workmanship and quantity. This guitar was great out of the box. The action was low. The playability was great. I didn’t need to bring it in for a setup. The pickup are bright. For the price it was worth the purchase. ... show more

  • It's just ok for a budget friendly guitar
Color: Purple
The pickups are awful and whole frets are long enough, they don't go to the edge of the finferboard. I do like the ball end but would prefer radius feet ends flush with the neck. Pictures do show frets are shorter if you zoom in. To be perfectly honest I was excited to get this guitar based of a friends review and experiences, but was pretty disappointed. I Squier Sonic HSS strat sounds way better. Bottom line, for the price, $220 isn't a deal breaker. If I keep it, I'll swap the pickups for better. ... show more

  • Nice guitar, but the tremolo arm wobbles to much in my opinion.
Color: Purple
If you don't intend on using the tremolo on this guitar you'll probably love it for the money. If you plan on using the tremolo either don't get the guitar or plan on replacing the tremolo - at least in my opinion. The tremolo arm neither screws in nor pop/snaps in - it just slides in. It has a grub screw you can tighten to adjust the pressure needed to spin/move the tremolo arm, which works well, but the tremolo arm wobbles pretty bad - the grub screw is kind off to the side. Pushing down on the tremolo arm the arm moves a bit and then grabs. It's not set up to pull up on the trem, but if you do pull on the tremolo arm it moves a bit and then grabs. Long story short, the trem arm wobbles. At least it does on the one I got. A bad designed tremolo arm setup in my opinion. With all this said, it's kind of sad about the tremolo because otherwise it's a pretty nice guitar for the money. ... show more
