  • Great quality for the money.
I needed a small precision drill press. The quill in a regular small drill press has too much side play for what I am drilling. The Grizzly mill has a very accurate quill and the variable speed control is nice. The mill drill is heavy and heavy is one of the 1st ingredients to a quality and accurate machine . Over all I am very happy with this small mill drill. Thanks. Bob ... show more

  • Only for small projects.
The idea is nice but the press is way too short. I wouldn’t buy this with my money. Cheap components. Bad design implementation. Honestly part of me feels like a cheap drill press with long post and $150 table would be better than this for a beginner wood worker. The frustration this thing causes is not worth it. Get one with a longer column…wth(!) There’s like 2” of workspace with a needed vise so you can make flat pieces but that about it. Get a good vise. There’s no way to insert bits without moving table usually when using a vise. That just really sucks. Good luck bring it back to zero time after time..no..that’s not the way to use a end mill.. You will need a round or tapered bit to zero it back it with eye. Since table cranks have so much play it really limits the precision a real end mill has. The thing just doesn’t work as advertised..the downfeed adjustment doesn’t work. The crank on TOP of column should be used for lateral fine adjustment. And why is there not some kinda of light on this…smh..even the cheapest $30 sewing machine has that.. When I look at this thing, I’m a bit disgusted how much room is wasted with bad chuck and spindle. It like they did it on purpose. Nothing about me likes this company.. ITS WAY TO HARD to move press with the cheaply put together arms and mechanism they have on press. In fact it’s so sticky I broke the aluminum section of arm and had to machine another one. The best way to use it is the crank on top but you lose your digital measurement tool,(which is really built as cheaply as possible, like a dollar store toy..🤮) Guess I’ll have attach digital caliper parts to moving column parts to get precise measurements.. ... show more
