My head circumference is about 54cm, so I bought size SMALL. No regrets. Snug fit without causing headaches or disorientation. Blood flow and facial mechanics uncompromised during use. Still able to wear my Giro Agilis helmet in size SMALL as well. BEWARE: If you wear earphones of any style, then they would be squeezed into your eardrums. I wear Samsung Earbuds Pro and they get squeezed into my eardrums causing discomfort. So far it has been comfortable for weather in the mid 50s Fahrenheit. Still have the runny nose in the cold air though, and that's just my body. Very soft fleece fabric. Not too thick that it would need you to get a larger helmet, though it would require you to loosen the helmet fit a bit. Elastic quality is still intact after washing each use. ... show more

This balaclava is nice and soft. Warm on cold mornings, havent tried it on deep winter, we'll see how it does. Really light and easy to carry around and pack. Now on the fit side, I measured my head and ordered a small si ce I was like 2 inches below the recommended size. This thing is really tight, I mean I can handle it but my nose seems im gonna have a flat nose if I use it for more than 20 minutes. Im not sure if I ordered the wrong size. My favorite balaclava yet! Fit snug and kept my face warm in 0-5 degree temps. The fleece was soft and warm, and the vents made it breathable without it getting cold and wet like fleece typically does. It was snug in my small face which I appreciated.
