Simply remove the flexible silicone base, fill the body with your favorite loose tea, reattach the base, and lower him into a mug of hot water. His mighty scythe rests over the rim of your cup, keeping the infuser conveniently within reach while your tea steeps. The roomy Grim Reaper body gives loose tea leaves space to expand as they brew, helping water circulate around the leaves while adding plenty of personality to your mug. Leave some extra room inside rather than packing the infuser tightly for the best brewing experience. GRIM STEEPER works well with standard loose leaf teas, including black, green, herbal, and other blends. Because this playful silicone infuser uses perforated openings rather than a fine mesh filter, very small tea particles may occasionally pass into your cup. Made from flexible, food-safe, BPA-free silicone, GRIM STEEPER is designed for repeated use and measures approximately 2.4 x 1.9 x 3.75 inches. I love the appearance, and it works to brew tea. The scythe helps hold it on the edge of a cup. It is a little hard to clean the leaves out of it, because of the small opening on the bottom -- takes some shaking. I made a paper funnel for filling it.

Let me just say it: this little Grim Reaper is the grim MVP of my kitchen. I bought the “Grim Steeper” on a whim because who doesn’t want their tea steeped by the literal embodiment of death, right? Well, color me pleasantly surprised—this thing is not just hilarious, it’s also shockingly functional. First off: the silicone is high quality. Flexible, durable, and oddly huggable (if death ever needed a hug). The lid stays on tight so your loose tea doesn’t escape and ruin your vibe. The holes are perfect—not so big your leaves float out like rebellious spirits, and not so small it doesn’t steep properly. This baby knows its job and does it with sinister precision. And let’s talk about the aesthetic. I dropped him into my glass tea carafe and my boyfriend burst out laughing. There he was—my little skeletal friend just chillin’ at the bottom like he’s contemplating the meaning of life while steeping a solid cup of black tea. It’s giving gothic tea party, it’s giving adorably macabre, it’s giving “till death do us steep.” Cleaning it? Super easy. No nooks or crannies that trap tea leaves or weird residue. BUT IT'S SO CUTE! It's a novelty item. I prefer basket style steepers or no steeper at all so my tea leaves have room to really open up. I'm still going to use this for tisanes like honeybush or rooibos (and maybe some black teas) in a clear mug because it's adorable and I love whimsy!

This does work very well and tea leaves fit nice insides of it. Lid doesn't not come off when it in water and it has decent size holes for it seeping. Silicone is doesn't break and good quality. Worth getting when you want spooky little guy in your tea cup. 😀

This is cute and fun to use but a pain in the butt to clean. If you're truly into teas it's a great novelty but not what you'll reach for when steeping your tea on a daily basis. I absolutely love this tea infuser! It's perfect and adorable! I love his scythe because it helps hook him onto the side of the cup. I feel he steaps the tea rather well. Cleaning him is super easy! It's also fairly easy to get the tea leaves out of him. None seem to get caught on anything on the inside. It's one of those little things that's well worth it. It makes having tea fun!
