In the past I just let the BBQ grid just "clean" itself by just firing up the grill and letting the leftover stuff on the grid heat up and drop off and burn away. After asking myself the question about the need for grill cleaning it turns out that it is a good idea, maybe not after every use, but at least after every third or fourth time. My research indicated that the leftover bits of meat, marinades, other sauces and seasonings can harbor bacteria which could possibly infect your food. Heating (burning) old marinades can produce "flavors" that are not desirable in the new meal you are preparing. There is even the threat of creating carcinogenetic fumes that could contaminate your food. This cleaning kit has what is needed to do a good job cleaning the grill/griddle. I start with the wire brush to get rid of the larger fragments. Next is the "cleaning brick" which is a brick of pumice which fits securely in the provided handle. This is nice because when you rub it over the grill the pumice breaks away to form grooves that match the grill's rod spacing. The pumice stone can be used several times before the grooves get too deep. Then, just start grooves at a different angle to utilize the surface of the pumice. I assume some of the pumice (which is a glass) can come off onto the grill, so the next thing I do is wash it off with water by either using a spray bottle or just hosing it off in the backyard. The last step I use is the scouring pads. These conform nicely to the grill and remove and leftover particles. I haven't used the scraper yet but it would be very useful if I had a LOT of gunk built up on the grill. It would also come in handy for the first tool to use on a communal grill, like those at parks or beaches, where lots of people use who knows what to BBQ (grill). Bottom line - This cleaning kit has what you need to keep your grill/griddle clean and happy and at a quality and price that is better than buying them separately,

Once I received the Griddle Cleaning Kit for Blackstone I decided to test it out. First thing is the components of the kit are neatly packed in the retail box. The kit includes: 12 orange scouring pads and one holder 2 pumice stones and one holder 1 Grill Brush 1 Griddle Scrapper Whether using a just a grill, a griddle or a combination grill/griddle, this kit will help the BBQ master cleanup and care for their Blackstone grill/griddle. Blackstone uses a cold rolled steel griddle plate which allows the use of the griddle scrapper and the pumice stone. The Blackstone website states that the pumice stone should only be used for rust or severe buildup of burnt on materials. Normal use on the gribble can damage the Blackstone griddle. For griddles that have a nonstick surface, this may not be the best option for you as the scrapper may mar the nonstick surface, and the pumice stones will definitely destroy the nonstick surface. For normal grills, the grill brush and the scouring pads are great tools. I use the scouring pads to really clean the grill before using it. The grill brush makes cleaning a hot grill so much easier, and depending on what you are grilling, the griddle scrapper can also be used to help clean a hot grill that has meats or sauces sticking to the grill. In the past I always used a wire brush to clean my grill; this is now my go to tool set for cleaning my grill and my smoker.

I bought the original BLACKSTONE griddle cleaning kit a couple of weeks ago. So I can easily compare both sets. The quality of the scouring pads and cleaning stones are nearly the same. The pads in this set are a little bit softer, but still do a great job. The stones work as good as the ones in the original BLACKSTONE kit. The scraper and handles for pads and stone work as good as the originals, too. Now it is all about the price and the extras. This set comes with 12 scouring pads and a grill brush (I have a fireplace with grill, so that comes in handy) and is only $ 2 more than the original BLACKSTONE kit (I bought it at the big blue grocery store for 20 bucks). The BLACKSTONE only comes with 3 scouring pads. For me the bottom line is: go with this cleaning kit and you will not be disapointed.

This is an excellent deal with a nice solid set of items for the price, $22 (at time of review). Grime build up is just a reality of grilling unless you are incredibly fastidious about your cleaning after every use. This set though helps to delay that build up significantly and effectively and the fact they provide extra pads makes this set so worth it. The scrapper seems solid and expect will easily get my money's worth out of it over time. Along with all the scouring pads, this is a very solid deal and would have no hesitation in ordering.

This is a very useful kit for not just for outdoor grill and but also oven cleaning in the kitchen. The brush is probably the most useful tool for a grill. However, I find the whole set to be good also for general cleaning of racks in various ovens. The cleaning stone works like a very coarse "sand paper". I have to say putting in the grinding stone into the holder took some serious effort. It is a very tight friction mount. The large number of scouring pads is helpful for general cleaning.

The brush is the most helpful tool for a grill, and this kit has everything you need to keep your griddle in top condition.
