I got this for my son who has back issues and has a hard time sleeping. Did some research about Futons and found out that they come in different thicknesses and are recommended for people with back issues, as the thickness of the mattress strikes a balance between firm support and cushioned comfort, which can be particularly beneficial for those who prefer a harder sleeping surface or suffer from back pain. From the first night, my son was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and restful his sleep was and his back didn't hurt!! He said he would never go back to spring mattresses again. He loves the idea that he can just roll it up when he wants a change of scenery and take it with him. He also has a dog that loves to sleep on it as well and says it is super easy to clean and maintain. The fabric is very durable. All in all a great buy! Comfortable, Versatile, Durable and Affordable.

I began using this product a few days ago, and it's thicker than anticipated. It's quite bulky, so finding adequate storage space is essential. I appreciate the straps for easy wrapping and the bag for storing the futon and a quilt. To enhance comfort, I added my thick pillow topper, which made a noticeable difference. The zipper cover and bag fit perfectly.

Unfortunately my futon never fully expanded, when after leaving it to air out for several days. That has made it significantly more firm (with stronger indentations) then I would have liked. It is about 1.5 inches shorter then advertised. However, it's still pretty comfortable. The layers have stayed in place and haven't shifted at all, it's light enough for me to move around, and I love that it came with a cover to help keep it clean. I also appreciate that the materials are clearly listed, since not every shikibuton does so. Overall, considering this is definitely a budget futon, I think it's a reasonable quality for the price I paid. I am planning on getting either a second futon or mat to provide some additional support since it didn't expand fully, but that's easy enough. I will be looking at maxyoyo for the second futon since the stitching, construction, and overall materials seem to be good quality.

At first I bought this for the simple fact that it has a low profile, you can fold it up when not it use. In my current living situation, I don't have room for a bed, so this seemed like the perfect option. I also purchased a tatami mat, just as a barrier between the futon and the floor, and a buckwheat hull pillow. As suggested, I purchased the Amazon Basics twin size sheet set, the fitted sheet fits almost perfectly on this. At first, I was thinking maybe I had made a mistake, the first night was not great, as I had existing back and neck pain (It didn't help that I didn't let it expand for 3 days before use.) However, after some light stretching the pain subsided a bit. After about a week of use, I can confidently say most of my back pain is GONE. I was using a firmer memory foam mattress prior to this, and I remember waking up with back pain all the time. It takes a bit to get used to, but I don't remember tossing and turning much while using this. The other mattress I was using, I remember turning back and forth frequently throughout the night. I'm more of a side sleeper and I can confirm that this will work for that. I will say that the included "sack" for storage is complete garbage. It immediately started ripping when I first used it. I have switched to simply folding the futon in an s shape, which works perfectly fine. Also, the included straps are dangerous, the clasps are brittle, one snapped while I was cinching it and nearly took my eye out. The included dust cover is fine, I put it on, but still use a sheet. The dust cover is soft, but I could see through it, so it's potential to actually protect the futon is limited. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.
