  • The Great Classic Guitar!
I bought this for myself for Christmas and my milestone 60th birthday at the end of December. I have owned many high end guitars such as Gibson, Rickenbacker and Fender but I always wanted one of these and just never bought one in the past. I was not disappointed, the Gretsch has a unique retro sound that goes wonderfully with my retro Fender tube amp. It's the most fun to play guitar I have ever owned and is unquestionably the best workmanship on any production guitar that I have ever seen. Beautiful, great action with the little extra bells and whistles. Highly recommended and well worth the price, the seller shipped it properly packed and the product was in perfect shape at delivery. ... show more

  • GREAT GUITAR
MAN!! Can't overstate how much I love this guitar. The finish, the sound, the feel and the quality in general is just amazing on this guitar. Don't be discouraged because it's make in Japan.. This guitar is one of the highest quality instruments I've ever owned and have had a lot of quality guitars. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • TAKE A CLOSER LOOK....
THE FRETS ARE CHEAP, TINY AND VERY POORLY POLISHED AND CROWNED. THE FRET END "'TANGS" ("BARBS" BENEATH EACH FRET) WEREN'T PROPERLY TRIMMED...SO SOME OF THEM ARE PUSHING THE NECK BINDING AWAY FROM THE FRETBOARD. THIS MUST HAVE OCCURRED WHEN THE FACTORY PRESSED OR HAMMERED THE FRETS IN. FROM AN AERIAL VIEW THE BINDING LOOKS WOBBLY. THE FRET END BEVELING ISN'T EVEN JUST LIKE A '70S KNOCK OFF! ALSO, THE FRETS WERE NOT PROPERLY LEVELED. THERE ARE MANY HIGH SPOTS ALL THE WAY UP THE NECK! ALSO...THE MUTE MECHANISMS WOULD NOT RELEASE WHEN DISENGAGED. IT'S NO MYSTERY AS TO WHY GEORGE HARRISON SWITCHED TO A FENDER STRATOCASTER AND A LES PAUL. TAKE MY ADVICE.....BY A GIBSON! ... show more
