The overall result is a great sounding Gretsch drum set that is ergonomically improved and has a fresh, contemporary design aesthetic.HardwareThe mounting hardware includes round “gas cap” bass drum mount plate, ultra low profile GTS mounting system, reduced-mass tom mount brackets and new single and double tom holders. Both tom holders include a post hole for a 7/8" cymbal tube post (not included). The ball/socket 12.7mm L-arms provide positioning freedom and a secure hold for stability. Gretsch T-Wing screws and bolts are included on all fittings for drummer-friendly feel and rubber isolators have been added to the die-cast bass drum claws to help keep bass drum hoops looking new. To complete the balanced design aesthetic, a new black/gold Catalina Maple round badge is included on all drums.New Catalina Maple FeaturesThe new Gretsch Catalina Maple series includes many drum features that have made Catalina Maple series a popular choice among drummers. The shell is a 7-ply Gretsch-formula maple shell with 30-degree bearing edges and natural shell interiors. Bass drums include telescopic bass drum spurs matching maple wood bass drum hoops. Toms/snare feature 2.3mm triple flanged hoops. All drums are fitted with Remo drum heads, including coated batters and clear resonant on toms/snare and clear bass drum batter head with muffle ring. The white Gretsch bass drum logo head includes muffle ring. New lacquer finishes include Satin Deep Cherry Burst and Walnut Glaze, along with new wrap finishes Aqua Sparkle and Black Bronze Sparkle. This Gretsch kit is absolutely tremendous. Excellent drums at a great price. Gretsch was offering an additional 8 inch Tom when buying their 6 piece Catalina maple kit. The kit came very fast, was packed very well. Not one issue with any physical damage. The kit was very easy to install, had excellent hardware also. Also I was able to add an additional cymbal because the hardware for the Toms had an attachment that allowed me to purchase a Gibralter accessory boom attachment right in the middle of the top two Toms which I personally think is excellent. I can say the sound of this kit is great and the quality of the craftsmanship was also great. This is my first Gretsch acoustic kit and I could not be happier. Also I purchased this kit here on Amazon but it was strange, nowhere did it show Sweetwater. Not one place I could find on Amazons site. When I clicked on the seller it stated it was a group of musicians selling instruments which was fine by me but the sealing tape on all of the Gretsch boxes and accessory boxes was sealed with Sweetwater tape. So i'm guessing somewhere Sweetwater was involved with this other company selling this kit. Again, it isn't a big deal because I have purchased many items, cymbals and accessories, even some drums from Sweetwater but I just figured someone reading this review may be interested in this. As I said above head of the snare drum was ripped and I bet it is received instructions on how to send it back and get a refund

Read what’s included. Pretty set. Tough getting the sound I want, but that’s just me and my preferences as well as room size and dampening. Still messing with the tuning. Cymbal Stands, cymbals, bass pedals, sticks, throne, and other things not included

Does NOT come with hardware and cymbals. Otherwise highly recommend Gretsch. Beautiful kit. Great sound. Also recommend Zildjian A or Zildjian K Custom Dark cymbals. And Gibraltar stands. Get the 5 piece pack, others not really needed, especially for beginner.
