The Grebstk Hand Fork, while excellent with the above soil types, ran into trouble with gumbo that contains rocks, etc. I did not want to break it, because it works so well on the ordinary soil. The handle is nice and it is very useful for the most part.

I had high hopes for this tool. My soil is clay and the fulcrum bent when I used it to wedge the weeds out. Perhaps this would have worked had I spent much time watering to soften the soil. Unfortunately that’s a catch22 because you need to soften the soil but the water feeds the weeds. If my intent was to rototill, I wouldn’t need this tool. If I planned to use a shovel, I wouldn’t need this tool. I’ll chalk it up to operator error but I still have a bent tool! ... show more
