I don't know if I would say this is truly expandable. It's definitely not like other expandable foams I have used. To me it was more like cheese wiz. It came out thin and I had to keep layering it on to make certain it covered everything. I think, this in turn, made me use more. I am filling holes left by contractors. Knowing that a mouse can fit through a tiny pencil size hole, I had to keep stacking this foam to make certain I was covering everything since there was no real expansion like other foams. I don't even feel safe trimming it down since a hole may appear. I'm hoping it works to keep mice away since winter is approaching. ... show more

I bought a house two years ago that was remodeled. This year for whatever reason the local rodent population decided to move in when it got cold. The remodelers had created tons of highways for the little buggers and never bothered to close any of their holes up. I had holes around the pipes for my water heater, holes around the drain pipes under my sinks and the guy that put the dryer vent in didn't even fill up the gap around the dryer vent or put a screen on it where it goes outside. When using foam to fill a gap where rodents are a concern, it's recommended to add either steel wool or copper wool/fabric to the patch because they hate chewing on metal. This foam also contains something the buggers are supposed to hate the taste of. So squirt in some foam, lay a piece of your metal material over that and squirt in a bit more foam to make a sort of sandwich which hopefully they won't chew threw and get back in. A field mouse is small usually around an inch and their skeletons can compact to the width of their heads so most mice can enter through a hole the size of a number two pencil. Once you block off their entry method you'll undoubtedly trap a few in the structure. I hate the idea of poisons around my dog not to mention other things in the yard that can and will get into it. The rodent metabolism cannot handle baking soda for whatever reason, it may take a bit longer to kill them than poisons but it's safe around the other critters in your house that belong there. At this price someone's making a whole bunch of money off this product and despite what they claim on the can, once you open it you only have a few days to use it. The stuff dries out fast and there is no way to clean the nozel if it gets clogged. There is a professional sized package of this and a supposedly cleanable application nozel but if you read the reviews on that setup that thing clogs up just as fast as buying a can at a time. We clogged up all the grand canyons through the wall under the sinks etc. I have heard what sounds like chewing going on at least one spot but haven't seen them get back through yet. I suppose only time will tell if this worked. ... show more

I suppose it depends on your application, but I got mixed results. Am replacing the floor moldings in my living room. Behind the old moldings, there are gaps between the frame and the slab. I have problems with spiders along that wall, so figured I fill the gaps and hopefully discourage them. The material is very difficult to control. It just barely comes out ... the next thing you know it's foaming all over the place ... and then it trickles out again. Some of the gaps got filled; some didn't. I got frustrated with it and gave up. The worst part ... when trimming it back, the remnants are full of static and cling to everything. GRRRR! ... show more

In searching for a product to seal entry ways for mice, I found this product. Unlike others, it has a nozzle that is precise and you can use it again, if needed. Most other products are once use only. Just clean off the tip after use and it’s good to go! And, unlike other remarks, it doesn’t turn yellow. Stays grey after it’s set. It didn’t matter to me either way, but was important to others. Feel more comfortable that no mice will get thru into the house in winter. Great product! ... show more

I bought this stuff to seal up some spaces around the baseboard heating in my apartment to prevent mice from getting in. First off, one can has a large quantity. I was impressed. Secondly, it’s really sticky! Wear gloves. It’s good for multiple uses. Just pull the dried stuff off the tip and use. It’s a great buy. EDIT: UPDATE- if exposed to heat this foam becomes brittle and will crumble to dust ... show more

It worked well on the surfaces and holes that I used it on but the nozzle kept popping off I assume it's because I couldn't read the directions so I got it on best I could but possibly never correctly I am pretty sure. That anyone who has vision good enough to read the can Would love this cause it did what it advertised after all ... show more
