  • Nice book
This book is big! Contains much information, would recommend

  • Where are the pricing reference tables?
This book is great, and it's full of useful information that is absolutely indispensable. My only complaint is the pricing tables that were in previous editions are gone in some spots. I'm thinking specifically of the tables for pricing things like movie posters in the illustration section and I'm sure there are other tables missing. Does anyone know why these were taken out? ... show more

  • Great Reference
Very informative. The spiral binding made it easy to scan in so I could reference it on my iPad and not worry about lugging it around.

  • A Complete Arts Resource
First, I bought this book for professional/business use as a painter and designer in order to better diversify my income streams and study the current graphic arts market. I also bought this as a resource for a business skills class I’m teaching to artists. Second, I bought this book secondhand through Bellwether Books, and not only did the item arrive in near-mint condition, but I got a great deal on it too. Would buy from them again. Finally, although I haven’t studied the text in-depth yet, the material listed seems well-organized, thoughtful, and all-encompassing. I feel confident that this book will have everything I need and much more. Definitely worth the money, even on a tight budget. ... show more

  • Great Resource, just lacking some popular categories
I was told up and down by other online to get this book because it is the freelancer's pricing bible. Turns out it did not have much pricing info about the type of media I make including, at for board games, digital 3D art, or creating 3d assets for video game companies (large vs. independent). So I was honestly pretty bummed about this and I hope these types of categories will be added in the next generation. Some other categories can be used as a placeholder for some of these, but not enough to be able to confidently negotiate with a client, in my opinion. I am keeping the book anyways because there is still some really great info in here that will be helpful to me in the future. ... show more

  • Buy it. It's not just "x" job should be paid "x" amount. There's so much more in this.
This book is incredible and has much more useful information than I originally thought. It clearly explains why you should price your art and time the way it recommends (aka your work and time is worth the money), different pricing factors to consider, things to consider when negotiating with clients, proposal and contract design, and so much more. I'm not sure if it's just due to my absent-mindedness, but I just didn't expect this to go into such detail. I just assumed that this would just be a reference that I can use as a starting point for pricing my work. This really is a great resource for anyone whose goal is to live off their creative work. ... show more
