1. Great craftsmanship! All screw holes align, all screws, washers, caps, and a hex key provided. 2. Well packaged. 3. Powder coat finish. I've read some reviews that call the color of this bench pink. It is not pink! An artist friend of mine said the color is "burnt umber." Some people might call it "brick red" or "colonial red." 4. The bottom of the front legs have leveling screws with a rubber end cap. These screws are !/2 long. If you don't need to level the bench, screw them down tight and the grommet helps form a water tight seal to prevent moisture from seeping into the leg. Nice touch! 5. Comfortable seating. If sitting for a long time, you might want to add a cushion. 6. Assembly. There are only four pieces to assemble, but if you follow the directions you'll quickly discover you either need three arms or a partner. After looking at it for a few minutes I discovered a much simpler and faster way to assemble it. This is what I would recommend. Using this method it took me 15-20 minutes to assemble. A. Assemble both arms to the bench portion first but only tighten the screws about 70%; you want some play in it. When putting on the arm rests, stand the bench on end (I used the cardboard box as a working surface to prevent scuffing the finish on my garage floor) and assemble the top arm rest. Flip it over (it will stand on its own) and assemble the second arm rest. B. Place bench on all four feet. C. Place the backrest (forward facing) on the seat. Insert the two long screws at the bottom and screw in about 70%. You'll have to lift the backrest a couple of inches to do this, but it's easy. D. Pivot the backrest up to align the top two screw holes and insert screws. The play or wiggle you have allows you to pivot the backrest up without forcing it against the arm rests and scuffing the finish. The top screw hole of the arm rest is hard to see but it's there. E. Tighten all four screws securing the backrest and put on the screw caps. These are hard plastic and you'll feel them snap into place. Stand bench on end and tighten remaining four screws on each side, secure screw caps. Voila! ... show more

My first consideration is if the aluminum would be hot to sit on under the blazing sun. Aluminum is what is used in the electronics industry to create heat sinks, which dissipate heat rapidly. Unlike iron, aluminum naturally disperses heat, greatly reducing its temperature. However, aluminum is a bit hotter than wood. It doesn't absorb as much heat as wrought iron, but it can still be uncomfortable seating without cushions in the heat of summer. All in all, cast aluminum patio furniture is a great investment due to its longevity, durability, and good looks. The trade-off, aluminum furniture can last over 15 years while properly painted wrought iron can last over 25 years. This bench went together easily with my experience. 4mm hex wrench provided or use a socket head in my case. There are 8 total bolts to install, each part in a blister pack to assure no loses. It took me around 30 minutes from unboxing to discarding the box. You will find blue tape on one arm piece and green on the other. This is merely a color marker in the factory, so the packers will not back two lefts or two rights. The base color is powder coated, but the grain effect is black paint applied manually and will scratch off easily. The factory did not apply the grain effect under the seat to save on time and paint. The sticker on the back panel which says "FRONT" disintegrates when trying to remove, therefore figure extra 3 minutes picking it off fragment by fragment. Despite some preexisting scratches, it is an acceptable aluminum bench although a bit overpriced considering the poor surface treatment. ... show more

I had a bench in my yard made of wood and cast iron for over 20+ years and the wood finally fell apart and the cast iron has become rough and rusted. I live very close to the beach so was happy it lasted this long . Lot of memories with my kids on my old bench. Hubby offered to repair the wood but time and the cost ended up being an issue. I happened to see this one and liked that it was lighter weight and would look more modern in my yard. It's definitely lighter than my old bench and more comfy. It looks nice in my garden. We will see how it holds up but I can actually move this one to put it away for the winter unlike my old bench. It was easy to assemble. We did it after dinner one night and then sat and enjoyed our labors. Hope to have make more memories on this bench. ... show more

My husband and I love to sit out by the firepit and I wanted a bench so we could sit together as opposed to in separate chairs. I needed something sturdy that would be comfortable without cushions. I didn't want the cushions to reek of smoke or have to put them in and out depending on weather. This bench fits the bill perfectly. Absolutely perfect, cute, sturdy bench. A little bit of a pain putting together as you need to put one arm on, then the back, then the other arm. The instructions are straight forward and easy just read it through first. I Absolutely love the color and design. Its fairly comfortable as well!
