We bought and tried four different styles and brands of baby swings - a compact swing, a swivel swing, a fancy tech swing, and this, the Graco Simple Sway swing. I wanted something for our little one to be able to relax in with me while I cook and bang pots around in the kitchen. Wearing my baby while doing dishes just doesn't work for us. I also wanted a swing that was multidirectional - front to back swing and side to side swing. I wanted it to be comfortable, quiet, and relatively affordable. To compare: The compact swing was nice because it didn't take up much space but the motor was loud and the design felt clunky, despite being condensed. The swivel swing was only awesome because it came with a mosquito net, which would have been awesome last summer for my summer baby while I was in the garden. Everything else about the swivel was unremarkable. The fancy tech swing was a kind of a joke. It didn't really swing, more like swayed around in kangaroo movements that supposedly mimmick my own. Hmpf. I like to think I move with a little more passion than that thing did. We actually bought two of this same brand, one that was more techy and one that was a lesser techy previous generation. Both left something to be desired. And then, glorious glorious Simple Sway arrived. Initially I was concerned about the size - it seemed bulky and I wondered if it would take up too much room. Not at all. Once easily assembled, my concerns were put to bed. It fits quite nicely in the kitchen corner space and takes up hardly more room than any of the others. And. AND! It moves like a dream. The motion is graceful and kind. I love it. My baby loves it. The motor is quiet, it sounds nothing louder than a large wall clock ticking. The music options are subtle and certainly not fanciful. But I wasn't looking for that anyway. I do really like the bird sound, though. With windows closed in the winter the subdued bird chirps in our kitchen have been welcome. The seat is enough of a bucket that it carefully holds even my wiggle wormy baby, but doesn't make me wonder if she's slowly sinking into a pit. I would say, though, regarding the seat, that the straps could be of better quality; a bit softer, smoother would be nice. But admittedly I'm spoiled with the likes of Nuna car seat straps and Stokke high chair straps. And I'm so much less concerned about the roughness of straps than I am about my little muffin's swinging experience. Which, in the case of the Simple Sway, is just top notch. I couldn't be more pleased. Did I mention it has vibration options for the seat? How Divine that this perfect swing also includes a little (or a lot) vibration feature to help my sweet baby downregulate her nervous system and support digestion! There's a reason this is ranked as #1, folks. Stop searching, just buy this one if it meets 80%+ of your needs. You won't be disappointed.

I bought the MaxiCosi swing because it would look nice in my living room and baby hates it 😂 $200 wasted. She LOVES this swing! The vibration is too strong in my opinion but she loves to swing front to back on level 6. It puts her to sleep when my arms are too tired to keep rocking her

My husband assembled it. He said that it sits a bit crooked but it it's not an issue. The mechanical noise when it swings doesn't bother our baby when she's sleeping. It's not loud and there's no loud clicking as oppose to other swings. Our baby actually gets proper sleep being in it during the day rather than putting her down in our bed/bassinet. The swinging motion is adequate. She's only 10 lbs so we'll see how it holds up as she gains more weight. The mobile does not rotate but its not a deal breaker. The vibration mechanism takes a C battery which we have yet to get. We love the fact that you can rotate the swing and you can plug it in. The music is okay, it's subtle but we don't use it. No more interrupted naps and less overtired baby. It's a sanity saver.

I purchased this after returning the new but disappointing 4Moms mamaRoo MultiMotion Baby Swing (model 1046). The mamaRoo is supposed to be the cats meow but my grandson didn't like it at all. The Graco® Simple Sway™ LX Swing with Multi-Direction Seat, is the second swing I purchased and I am so glad I did! It's ability to sooth is just amazing! My grandson LOVED it from the second he was placed into it. With no exaggeration, he settled down and was asleep in under two minutes. Now that is the kind of swing I was looking for!
