This water heater impressed me with how quickly and reliably it worked. Unboxing and setup took me about seven minutes, and within five seconds of firing it up I had hot water with a strong, solid flow rate. After testing it for a bit, I fully charged the built-in battery and ran it unplugged just to see. I ran it for about 30 minutes without slowing down. The manufacturer claims up to 100 minutes of runtime, which I haven’t tested yet, but I like that it also charges while in use so you don’t have any downtime. Between the internal battery, the 12V car adapter, and the included 110V charger, you’ve got plenty of options to make it work. Safety-wise, it has automatic shut-offs for overheating, lack of water flow, and tilting. I tested the tilt function and it shut down at about a 45-degree angle; protective without being overly sensitive and annoying. The shower head has a handy on/off button that pauses both the pump and heater, and it offers three spray modes (stream, shower, or both). The kit also comes with a magnetic shower head holder, a pet-washing brush, and a well-made carry bag with a shoulder strap, which makes it feel like a complete, practical setup rather than just a gimmick. If I could change one thing, it would be adding a flow control option as it seems to pump a lot of water quickly, but I understand why it’s not there since it would affect heating. Not a big deal since you have the on/off feature on the shower head. Overall, this is a portable, well-designed water heater that does exactly what it promises.

Bought this unit in June 2025, when I first got it I plugged in the house charging unit and it worked as did the unit itself. I tried charging it the second time needing it for camping but the household charger isn’t working now. Tried going on their website and can’t find anything to contact them. Very disappointing you would think that they would have someway of contacting for parts. Definitely do not recommend this company. UPDATE since this review company has gotten ahold of me finally and I was able to get a new household charger just to along time for a response from them.

This is the second product I’ve purchased from Wintemp. The first was a whole-house on-demand hot water heater I installed in our summer cabin, which has been great so far. Their customer service has also been excellent—very responsive and they stand behind their products—so I had no problem buying another. This portable propane water heater is a solid little unit. It showed up in good shape, packed well, and was super easy to set up. Everything is color-coded, so it’s basically impossible to hook up wrong. The showerhead has a built-in on/off valve that shuts off both the burner and the pump when you flip it closed, then fires right back up when you open it again. It also has two spray settings—narrow and wide—both strong enough for a proper shower. And yes, it gets hot. Really hot if you want, up to 118 degrees, so you won’t be taking a cold shower unless you choose to. The unit is fairly light, easy to move with the top handle, and simple to operate. All the parts and hoses seem to be good quality. The built-in rechargeable battery runs the display and igniter, so you can use it totally off-grid without plugging it in. The build quality feels solid, and the carry bag is a nice touch for keeping everything together. Bottom line: it does exactly what you want a portable water heater to do, without any fuss. Perfect for camping or an off-grid cabin.

It came out of the box flashing and EC error which means display malfunction. I'm still giving it 2 stars because I feel like it would be a good one looking at how well it was made. I'm sure this was something that happened with transporting it.

I have been on the fence about buying one of these, for a while now. After researching several different brands, I decided to purchase the Wintemp model GPT3U. One feature I like, is the push button temperature control vs the dial style, as I think it's a more stable heat setting. I have only seen this control style on one other brand's updated model. The 4000 mAh internal battery makes it easy to place the unit anywhere you want. However, if it runs out of power, there's still the option to plug the car or wall charger into your vehicle or other power source. The GPT3U is super simple to set up. Just connect the regulator & propane cannister, hoses, put the pump into a water source and within 5 seconds, you have hot water! Some usage tips : I recommend keeping the blue cap that comes on the end of the shower hose (red) If you store the hose detached from the nozzle, you may lose the small white washer in the end of the hose. Screwing the blue cap back on keeps this from happening. Also, make sure you drain the water from the unit, after using. Detach both hoses and tip the unit forward, so that all of the water drains out of the ports. One other thing to note... if your water source is very cold, you may need to cycle the water through again to get your desired temperature , as the device will only be able to increase the temperature by 45° F. Lastly, the company has excellent customer service and communication, which is very important, as well as a great product!

Bought this to use in my cabin. Fully charged and a 5 gallon bucket of water is more then plenty for a shower. Build quality is great and it works just fine. I got the refillable 1 pound propane bottle fuel keg to use with it.
