Here was my fear: I wanted lights that look like I actually put up Christmas lights. All the pictures I see of these lights have that “wall washing” effect where it’s as if your house has lights being shined on it instead of looking like there’s actually Christmas lights up. I wanted to buy the Govee lights with the square heads that are spaced out thinking it was the best way to get that look. Naturally I waited too long and they were sold out. I DESPISE getting on a ladder so the idea of putting these lights up once and keeping them up all year is amazing. So I bit the bullet and decided to try these LED strips. Man was I wrong. These lights are awesome and look great at night. I spaced them out far enough from the walls where I tried to avoid the wall washing effect. Regardless they look awesome at night. The media could not be loaded. What more could you ask for? Super easy to install & look great! Easy connection to Wi-Fi and Alexa. The community app lets you search other customers custom light settings they’ve created. Then, if you like it, click the “apply” button and it instantly changes your lights! That’s slick! And, it’s fun and easy to create your own themes, too. I’ve included a short video of some crazy Christmas theme I was experimenting with so you get the idea of how they look. The app could be laid out a little more intuitively, but it works. It’s nice to have one central app for all of my Govee products… very convenient. Installed the strip light in October 2023 to backlight a breeze block retaining wall in the front of our house. The install was quick. The app is quite intuitive. During the holidays we change the lighting colors. We have the lights on all year long, set by the timer found with the app. At the end of February, the lights stopped working. I reached out to Govee’s online support (on a Sunday). They helped me work through some troubleshooting. Ultimately they needed to send a replacement controller. It arrived Tuesday morning. We installed the new controller and are now up and running again. I can’t say enough great things about Govee’s support. They were very quick.     • Power supply failed after just two months.

Edit: They relatively painlessly replaced the power supply free of charge. They actually sent an entire new light strip even though I just needed the power supply. These are great when they work, the app is good enough and the led's themselves are brilliant... wish I could say the same about the power supply. I have a ticket in with Govee as I just need a power supply, the led's still work fine, I'd rather not spend anymore time on top of an extension ladder taking them down and putting them back up. I’ve been buying led light strips for years, thinking Govee is great, and they are, but idk. Let’s start with the good. They are bright and colorful and they weren’t too difficult to install and get hooked up to the app. The app has a lot of options. Some of the options are cool, most don’t look good. The problem with these lights are that the segments or sections that are editable are like a foot and a half long. So there are no smooth transitions. It looks like low resolution graphics. So idk. I’m happy that they work well, but I kind of expected to be able to adjust every individual light or much tighter sections. ... show more
