This product is made in USA. Product Material is polyurethane. This units does not have any fire retardants chemicals added to it. If you would like to customize this unit please send us a message before any purchase. This product has a compression rating of 44 lbs. Compression means the number of pounds necessary to compress the piece of foam by 1 inch in a 7x7 inch area. For example, if you put 44 lbs in a 7x7 inch area, the foam will compress 1 inch. Many mistakenly take high density foams as firmer foams but that is not the case. A foam that is 44 ILD in a medium and high density will feel the same. Density is the lifespan of the foam, the higher the density the more material is used to make the foam hence making it last longer. ****Disclaimers**** Many advertise their 1.8 density foam as high density which is false advertisement. When looking at foam products you should look at the ILD / Compression Rating ( Firmness and Softness ) of the foam and Density ( Lifespan / Durability ) of the foam. Sunlight will turn this unit from white to yellow, if you do not want a color change on your unit we suggest keeping it away from direct sunlight.

Nice firmness

I purchased this for my recliner which is in good shape but has become increasingly uncomfortable to sit on. This is a nice, semi firm foam. I cover it with a white cotton that will be permanent. After covering the foam I made a washable cover and put it on the foam. I’m quite happy with the results. This foam is flexible enough that my recliner can move into all of its different positions. It was quite easy to roll up and move when I needed to carry it to my chair. This foam has really helped with my comfort.! Our guest bed is a German bunk bed so the mattress has about a six inch gap on it. Originally I wanted to just fill it but decided to add a headboard pillow instead. This foam was absolutely perfect. Not that it matters to you, but it was the exact size I needed and it felt magical, you know. Like when do you ever get the chance to buy exactly what you need for a diy with no leftovers?? Anyways, I used the 24x72” (5” thick firm) to made the gap filler pillow (the white one) and then added a second pillow that overlaps the mattress a little (the teal one) to add more of a buffer to the floating shelf. Since adults sleep on this bed, I wanted to make sure no one hit their head on it, as it’s a little intrusive. The firmness was perfect, soft but really supportive. When leaning on it with a good book in hand for a while, it didn’t buckle or sink and I never hit the little shelf. As far as working with the material, it was really easy to cut. Since I got the 5” thick one, I had to make multiple passes with my trusty snap blade, but it when through with ease. Some tips though: mark out a line on three sides to make sure you’re staying perpendicular and not making an angled cut; hold the blade at a 45° angle and pull, if you feel resistance you will get pills and a messy cut. I only had a few little foam fuzzies to pick up at the end! Overall I will be purchasing all my upholstery and cosplay foam from here because I just loved working with it. I felt like the price was good for material that was simultaneously easy to work with and functioned extremely well. ... show more

GO TO FOAM: This foam was 2 inches in height.It was as expected and squishy somewhat firm.It was just what my hard firm bed mattress needed with the pillow top on top.Foam is not a firm foam but soft.It does Not leave you feeling like you can't get out of it but moves with you.Pillow top with foam made my bed feel like a hotel mattress. I paid way too much at Lowes Home improvement for two outdoor chair cushions that "died" within weeks. The only good thing was they had zippers so I could replace the foam. This foam is as advertised. It is dense, without being hard. Easily cut to size and now have spare to redo other cushions.
