Description

FoamTouch upholstery foam is made in the USA. FoamTouch upholstery foam is made of Polyurethane. High Density foam has a compression rate (ILD) of 44 lbs. ILD is a unit of measurement and refers to the number of pounds (lbs) of pressure or force that is needed to indent foam to a depth of 4” by 25%. This test is performed on an area of 50 square inches. High density foam is designed for that firm feeling for those who do not want to sink into their couch. FoamTouch has 100% recovery rate, 5-7 years durable and suitable for long-term use. All foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard, and rolled for packaging. Foams are rolled under pressure to fit the box. The foam packages need to be opened immediately once you receive them. Do not let the foam sit unopened for more than 1 week. Do not open with a box cutter or any kind of blade. Use a ball point pen or a pencil. Start by making a little incision and break the seal (tape) from there. Please let the foam sheet lay flat for 48-72 hours before starting your project Ideal uses for foams are for Chair Pads, Seat Pads, Couch Cushions, Furniture, Pillow, Seat Cushions, Chair Cushions, Patio Cushions, Furniture Cushions, Rocking Chair, Car Seats, Bike Seats, Upholstery Repair, Foam Mattress, and Mattress. • "Perfect Cushion – Bought One, Then Bought More!
Style: 6x24x24 Pattern Name: Plain
I originally bought one of these foam cushions to try it out, and I was so impressed that I ended up buying several more! It’s absolutely perfect in every way—supportive, comfortable, and just the right level of firmness. The cushion molds to your body, providing amazing support and relieving pressure points, whether I’m working, driving, or just relaxing. It’s also lightweight and portable, making it easy to use anywhere. After experiencing the difference it made, I knew I needed more for other chairs in my home—and even one for the car! If you’re looking for a high-quality cushion that truly delivers, I can’t recommend this one enough. ... show more

  • Excellent Product!
Style: 5x24x24 Pattern Name: Plain
I needed to replace the seat cushion on my leather recliner. The old cushion had springs inside it that had tangled and left large lumps to sit on. I cut the new foam to size using a straightedge and an old paring knife, used the old batting (I forgot to buy new batting) and put the seat cover back on. I was concerned that this polyurethane foam cushion would be too soft, but it turned out to be a little stiffer than the old one! I'm sure that it will 'break in', but in the meantime it's not uncomfortable, just different. As an ex-puppeteer, I've worked with poly foam in the past; this product has superior density and feels like it will last for many years. ... show more

  • Firm, Comfortable, No Smell, Dense, Springy
In the door, out the door all night long. I needed a comfortable place to sleep. Our big o’ 18 1/2 year old boxer mix is in and out all night long. Sleeping in the back of the house is impossible. I slept on the couch for awhile until my bones just could not take it anymore. **What a great deal on-a firm Comfortable foam ‘ mattress’ pad! **I cut it to size of the couch. Super simple as I used a sharp utility knife. A foam knife , craft knife or even a sharp machete would have made a cleaner cut . <~ So my husband told me . I didn’t mark it it used a piece of heavy cardboard under it and a book that was an inch wider than where I needed to cut. The inch gave me a handle to hold on to while I scored the top of the foam pad. **My point is it is easy to cut to size., I have been sleeping sound, no more aches and pains. My shoulders have torn ligaments that give me a lot of pain especially when a lie down. I have had less pain sleeping on the foam pad than on my $1700 Saativa mattress. **It can be a little warm so I’m looking for a way other than my AC & my heater on to keep the room temperature comfortable. But that’s normal for our house. **I really like foam pad and sure appreciate the restful sleep in between letting the dog in and out all night long.. **Pro: Retains it shape, has NO bad smell, was sent in a box with a breathable fabric wrapped around it to slide it carefully in the box so not tear or dirty pad. Comfortable!!!! Cuts well. **Con: It could be a little warm to sleep on with the wrong bedding or no air flow. It is actually a pad to refill cushions and not advertised as a bed. So keep that in mind. •To keep it clean if using as a mattress I suggest a cover with a cool cotten top . ... show more

  • High density may hold up longer but its not very comfortable
I ordered the high density to hold up more than the 6 months that the original cushions lasted. I am discovering that this makes for an uncomfortable seat. Its fine for a short duration but don't plan on sitting on this for more than 10-15 min unless you have enough room in your covers to wrap the cushions with a good amount of Dacron wrap. I had not room for wrap and these are uncomfortable. Despite this issue, the foam is good. It was easy to cut, holds its shape well, is definitely high density, doesn't flake or crumble. If you are prepared for the density this is a good product. ... show more

  • FINALLY! An extremely FIRM FOAM CUSHION to extend the life of our sofa...
Style: 6x30x72 Pattern Name: Foam Cushion
In our home, my three sons NEVER SIT on a sofa. Instead, they prefer to lie down and watch their favorite TV shows. Another harsh reality is the fact that my sofa is subjected to occasional overnight guests who despite their weight (300+ pounds), insist on using the sofa rather than a bed. As a result, my sofa cushions wear out much faster than the upholstery. Fortunately I'm relatively handy and have become quite adept at cutting foam and squeezing it into pillows, upholstery, etc. This high density cushion is exactly what I needed. It came in a 6 inch height and 30" depth, which is not the norm for most sofas, but suited the size of my extra deep L-shaped sectional. I also wanted extra-extra-extra firm support to compensate for the larger proportioned members of the family, and not "wither" under sustained overnight sleepovers. This foam does the trick! While XXXL firm cushions are initially a bit too firm for comfort, I find that over the course of a few months it "gives" a little, thus transitioning to pleasantly firm/supportive. By investing $100-$120 dollars in foam (for a 72 inch sofa) and doing the work myself, I have DOUBLED the life of our sofas and chairs (8-12 years between buying new ones). HOW I GO ABOUT IT: I first remove the old foam from the cushion. I then use a firm yardstick to measure the old foam and/or upholstered casing. I transfer those measurements to the new foam using permanent marker. (You can also use your old foam as a template - that is if it isn't too misshapen.) For cutting the new foam, I prefer using a large, VERY sharp (non-serrated) knife (although I've heard some people use an electric kitchen knife - however, I don't own one). At this point, a bit of warning ---- extra firm foam IS NOT easy to squeeze back into upholstered casings as it doesn't bend too easily! To help with this task, I wrap the foam with a thin batting that has a interfacing type lining on one side. This will not only act to protect the cushion over the course of time, but it will also increase the overall comfort level ---- BUT most importantly, it will facilitate movement of the foam as you guide it into the upholstered casing. ... show more
