This product seemed to meet my needs but I was very disappointed because after about 14 months it started malfunctioning. First, it started corrupting video recordings it made. And then it started corrupting micro SD cards I was using with it. So it actually destroyed some footage. I tried multiple micro SD cards but they all had the same problem so it is the camera unit and not the media. Apparently this is a problem the unit shipped with because for a while the GoPro would prompt me to restore corrupted files, implying this is a known problem with an attempted fix by the designers, and also it has been mentioned as a problem by others online. I have read the reason that long recordings are automatically broken up by this unit is so that if one of the videos gets corrupted it doesn't compromise the entire recording. But now, my GoPro corrupts entire MicroSD cards, so I guess it compromises everything now. I am disappointed that the item basically is useless after a little over a year. All I wanted was a simple device to record sports footage but apparently this is beyond the capability of GoPro. I should have gone with an economy knockoff if this is the quality they are offering.
