    • Unusable, powers off with full battery
I’ve spent hours researching this very know issue, tried every different setting, even bought a mobile charger, nothing works. When filming at 70%, 80%, even 90%+ charge, the camera automatically shuts down after a few seconds and says it’s because of “low battery”. There are no solutions. No firmware update, setting combo, temp control, etc. that fixes this. And reading online this is clearly an overwhelmingly common issue. The only explanation is that gopro (and this Amazon vendor) sell faulty devices, whether it be old batteries that don’t work, or camera products that don’t work. Here’s just one gopro thread of this from 2 years ago still with no solution and ppl still at their wits end as recently as weeks ago. Based on the countless people reporting that they are experiencing this issue for years, and no solution, I can only assume that gopro & this vendor know of the issue and just continue to sell these products that flat out do not work. What’s so frustrating is that I bought this for the sole purpose of filming a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list vacation with my family. Every time there was an amazing filming opportunity the product failed. While we were able to capture some of the moments with run of the mill smartphones, we lost out on so much because of this product. That pales in comparison to the $500+ spent and wasted. GoPro is living off legacy brand recognition and marketing budget that will likely bury this review, like so many others. But if you do happen to read this, buyer beware!! Definitely look elsewhere unless you also want a very expensive useless brick. ... show more

    • Immense upgrade from Hero 3+ Black
The short review: Upgraded from (very) old Hero3+ black. The picture quality is spot on. Exposures and dynamic range is extremely impressive. Stabilization is fantastic. HD & 4k output is wonderful. Has never overheated for us at all (we have two). HOWEVER: The battery life is abysmal even with the Enduro battery. Don't expect to shoot 1 hour (continuous or not) with their batteries. Maybe 20 min max and even less at higher frame rates. The app while functional could be vastly improved. There are way too many screens to navigate so when you need a fast launch you don't get it. What you get is basically a promo screen. When I'm using the app I want the connection to my cameras to be first, foremost and fast. I don't want to see anything else unless I choose. They get minus 5 stars for their bloated app. I still think GoPro is a bit overpriced especially with their abysmal battery life but even so there's nothing we've seen that cost less and has quality and features equal to or better than them (not even DJI). ... show more

Good camera smooth video and excellent picture. Some what durable and ok audio. The only gripe is the app sucks completely, issues with updating and freezing constantly. I cannot update this camera no Matter what.
