This tool chest is a fantastic starter toolbox in my garage! The detachable top box give you some options for how you want to use it. There's plenty of drawer space for my needs. The quality feels quite solid and likely can take a beating and last for a decade. The wheels were easy to install, and I do think I'll find the rolling aspect very useful the more I get into my Summer and Fall projects. NOT left at the front door! It was left in front of the apartment building instead of taken upstairs to the correct apartment number. It could have been stolen! Item seems ok BUT: My husband disabled with heart condition) had to carry it up. And it was heavy! Fed Ex left it there. I contacted them already. To add, item is very nice for the price. Love this tool chest! It’s much sturdier than I expected and the drawers slide super smoothly. The auto-locking system gives me peace of mind, and the lockable wheels make it easy to move around without it sliding away. Ok you get what you pay for. This is not a heavy box buy no means it not like the old sears boxes with that being said. It’s a good box for household use. I keep it by my work bench for simple everyday fixes. I keep the heavy work stuff in an old craftsman box that could handle the weight. As far as the other box fitting into the other box I find the only one benefiting from this is the manufacturer for shipping other wise I find it useless. Hinges and components are cheap and the metal is flimsy but you get what you pay for. And it’s smaller than it looks. ... show more

I must admit the reviews on this had me a little scared...about 25% of responders were either "meh" or dissatisfied with this product. Damage in shipping, size, and quality were mentioned often. I breathed a sigh of relief when I found it had been delivered with no external damage by FedEx to my door. I brought the carton inside and broke it down, and found absolutely no internal damage either. The tool chest was encased by Styrofoam and cardboard waffle, and it was pristine...no dents or scratches of any kind. All the parts were there, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. It took me no more than fifteen minutes to have it assembled. So, this is a scaled down size of a normal rolling tool chest, it would likely not be of any value as a primary storage unit for a full scale workshop. But, for me, its perfect. I determined ahead of time that the dimensions were perfect to fit in a spot in my utility room. The smaller size was just right for the tools I want in the house. And, its of lighter weight construction, which is adequate for my needs. I find this unit to be an excellent value for the money and would buy it again. If I was more invested in hobbies or a job that required a rolling tool chest, I would have bought something more substantial. And one last thought, this item would be a great gift for a kid who is starting out with his/her own "big person's tools". ... show more

I hesitated for a long time because of all the bad reviews I've seen on here about packaging. I fully expected to have to return my item due to damaging. I was happily mistaken!!! The toolbox came well packaged. When I say well I mean extreme. There was cardboard on all four corners with some little plastic elbows. Styrofoam. Plastic. Cardboard . More carboard. More styrofoam. Very well packaged and not a scratch on the item so obviously all the complaints on here either are all bs or the manufacturer decided to listen. Glad I took a chance. As a young woman living on her own I absolutely had no issue with assembling the tool box or bringing it in from outside. The bottom was not difficult to take apart in order to get the top out because that's how they ship it. It was four screws. Doesn't require a rocket scientist to figure it out or instructions. As of April 2022 I would recommend this product. For only $249 I got more than what I expected. Now it's not going to be a $500 Craftsman so adjust your expectations accordingly. However with how good they've been shipping it I have no issues. The drawers open easily. No resistance. The bearings roll nicely. The bottom opens and closes well. To put it honestly it's not as janky or cheap as I thought it would be. Now if you overfill a drawer or two it does have potential to topple on you but just be smart and don't open all the drawers at the same time and you won't have an issue. ... show more
