It is as described. Good built quality. Easy to install. Instruction sheet is off, mentions a nut and bolt to fasten the hook attachment, but it's just a threaded screw.

These racks are very sturdy and well made. My only reservation was that the arm tilt adjustment didn't seem to hold position very well but it turned out I didn't need it anyway. The helmet hook is in the wrong place allowing the helmet to dangle down into the frame of the bike or into the chain (as ours did), so I moved the hook rearward to one of the slider adjustment screws (had to bend it a bit too) up on top. Now our helmet bags don't touch the bike or interfere with moving the bike on or off. Thy were easy to install and work well. I would recommend this product. ... show more

The concept of this hanger is decent, it's what attracted me to it. But I'm not sure where all the good reviews have come from. Little background... I build houses for a living. So, when it comes to properly installing something like this, no problem here. The unit came with no instructions on how to put part of it together, which was confusing at first, but I figured it out. Whatever. Then mounting to the wall... I went directly into a stud. This is a MUST for any installation. The screws that came with this thing and the little wall anchors were hilarious, as if it's an option to not attach this to a stud (it shouldn't be). I tossed them aside. They wouldn't be able to hold paint on a wall much less a bike... but I digress. The rack now mounted to the wall, via a stud, with proper 3.75" construction screws, it's ready for my bike. My bike weighs 39lbs. I hung it on Gootus wall mount and it immediately proceeded to bend downward toward the ground. Upon closer inspection, the metal bracket that extends out bent at a tension point. See the attached photos. There's no way I would trust this thing to hold my bike up off the floor with a car parked just adjacent to it. There is no doubt the unit would fail at some point and the bike would come crashing down onto my car. The metal on the bracket is simply too thin and weak. So, back to Amazon this thing went. It might be okay holding a kids bike off the floor that weighs less than 20lbs. But I wouldn't trust it with anything more than that. I instead found some kayak/ladder storage hooks that were WAY better. They're so strong, if my wife ever really got tired of my antics, she could hang ME from them with complete confidence they'd do the job.
