I spent approximately 476 hours comparing different duvets for my first brand new "all mine" bed after my divorce. I'll save y'all the hard work. If you want a big fluffy duvet, that feels like you're sleeping in a cloud...then buy this one. When you get it, wash it and throw it in the dryer with tennis balls (or those wool ones if you're real fancy). Job done. I bought this after reading a lot of favorable reviews. I love it. I needed something lightweight because I recently broke my foot and couldn’t stand the pressure my covers put on it at night. This is so soft and fluffy and lightweight. Exactly what I wanted. The only reason I gave this it a 4 for warmth is that it’s not overly warm - just right. Don’t let the reviews complaining about it not being fluffy scare you. I’m pretty sure those people didn’t wash and dry it when it arrived. It came out of the dryer three times as thick as when it went in the washer. And not only does it have very few feathers in it, it has none. It is down alternative. These complaints came from not reading carefully. I bought the stripe in king size because it was less expensive and I didn’t really care. If you don’t want stripes don’t worry. You can barely see them. They are basically white on white. This is a terrific value. ... show more

I scoured the internet high and low on the quest to find a new duvet for a new bed for a child. I LOVED the one we had for the smaller bed and wasn't willing to settle for just anything. We just received this a couple of days ago but it appeared to be free from defects upon opening and inspecting it, held up well in the washer and dryer, and had zero odor before or after washing. I was hesitant to commit to it based on some of the reviews but thus far I'm glad I went for it. I put it inside of a thin duvet cover and it looks and feels quite fluffy. It come vacuum sealed so of course it looks (and is) flat when it's opened but that's not at all the case once it's washed and dried. It does feel fairly light as far as blankets go BUT I covered up with it before washing just to get a feel for the weight and immediately felt it starting to warm me up. Paired with a duvet I expect this will be an idea all-seasons blanket. Possibly a little light for a harsh winter but you could easily pair it with another blanket for extra warmth. For Spring-Fall it seems it will be ideal. If you're wanting something with significant weight to it this isn't going to fit the bill but if you're wanting to feel your blanket on top of you without it really weighing you down this will be perfect, especially once in a cover. Definitely the feel I was going for now that it's in the duvet cover and on the bed. I'd say the title is slightly misleading for some in that it uses the term "goose down alternative" so I can see how some may be expecting a legitimate down blanket but if you read the description is clearly states it is down alternative which is what I was looking for since it's for a child's room and accidents are bound to happen. There was no obvious bunching or shifting of the fabric during/after the first wash and dry. I'll update if it doesn't hold up but thus far I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of this duvet! ... show more

No too thin, not too thick. I was easily able to insert it into the duvet cover. There were these little elastics at the corner you could tie your duvet onto. I loved it!

I really like this comforter. Its value for the price is exceptional. It's light and fluffy and snuggly. I do want to mention that despite it's light feel, it is VERY warm. I am a person who runs fairly cold and it is also currently cold where I live. So this is a welcome surprise for me. Prior to owning this blanket, we had a regular down comforter and we needed an additional blanket to stay warm at night. With how light this comforter felt I was sure we'd need to do the same. We did not! It's is so warm that sometimes my husband and I both need to kick it partially off at night. We do have a duvet on it that is a synthetic blend so I've no doubt that adds to the warmth. But either way, I think we will have to switch back to the goose down in the warmer months. If I am wrong, I will update at that time! ... show more

This thing could have duck feathers for all I care! IT IS SOFT! I love it! Soft, comfortable! My biggest concern was being super sweaty at night which is not the case! This comforter keeps a cool balance for you throughout the night and my daughter loves rolling around in the softness.
