I received the 8A, intending to install GrapheneOS on it. I was concerned reading others accounts that the phone they received had a locked bootloader. The 8A was in pristine condition. I entered the IMEI number into a website but the phone was not identifiable. I followed the instructions for web install at the GrapheneOS website, but I got stuck at unlocking the bootloader. So, I transferred my T-Mobile SIM card to the 8A and rebooted the phone. Following the GrapheneOS web instructions again, I was able to unlock the bootloader and subsequently I installed GrapheneOS. Unfortunately the phone I received was still carrier locked (meaning not unlocked for use with any other carrier). After going through the process of data transfer and putting on accessories I finally switched my sim card over only to found out it had all been a waste of time. For the hassle of this and having to box and ship back the item myself I was ever so generously offered $15 off on my next purchase from the seller. ... show more

The phone I received was in excellent condition and worked fine. However the Amazon Trade In process was VERY disappointing. I sent them a pristine 2 year old Pixel 6a, thinking I would get $50 back no problem. I only got $12.50 back and was told the LCD was defective, a total LIE! Beware the trade in hoax! ... show more

    • Very intelligent and economic way to upgrade
My Pixel 8a delivered in 24 hrs. after ordering. It was most helpful, following the entering my Samsung A54 for trade in, to have Amazon issue a gift card to the amount. The Pixel is in perfect condition and accepted my T-Mobile sim immediately. Highly recommended.

    • Perfect condition and works as specified, but 5a -> 8a transition is disappointing at times
8a on-screen fingerprint sensor is an issue, and the screen needs to be on which adds a hassle. As opposed to 5a where the sensor is neatly located on the back, is always ready, and works reliably. Also 8a is too bulky/heavy for one hand operation, tends to tip over. Slippery, feels risky carrying w/o protective case. ... show more

This phone was graded "Excellent", but the one delivered had scratches and bents. In addition, upon startup of the phone, a security warning displays stating the phone has been jailbroken (OS security compromised), which will prevent obtaining future security updates.
