    • Fraudulent Phone, IMEI Flagged through Verizon
As most of us are trying to stretch our dollars I found this phone on Amazon, backed by the Amazon Refurbish. I moved over my SIM card to get the service going and it wouldn't connect to the Verizon Network. Puzzled, I did what anyone else would do... Restart the phone! After attempting this a couple times (more like 10 times!) I took it down to the local Verizon store to see if I could get it sorted. And boy did we! 2hrs of trying to remember a pin I setup 10 years ago, remembering the old Yahoo email password I signed up with, going to the fraud prevention team, emailing a copy of my Drivers License, and repeating back phone numbers... etc. etc. To find out that Verizon had FLAGGED this phone's IMEI in their database as Fraudulent, meaning NO-WORKIE... EVER. Which you'd think the seller would have checked beforehand. My 2¢? BUYER BEWARE! The Verizon rep said if we could get the IMEI number ahead of time they could run a check to keep this from happening again. Unfortunately, I don't have the patience or 2+ hours to spend at Verizon talking to Fraud Prevention, and dealing with the hassle this purchase brought on to give them a second chance. I'll take my refund money to the Verizon Store to buy one there. ... show more
