I don't care what any of those tech reviewers bashing this phone had to say, they were hating on this thing and giving it poor reviews for something I never cared about (wide angle lens), so while they were crying about not having "mUh WiEdAnGeLz!!!" I actually bought the phone and used it for a few months. And loved it. I was personally tired of hiding the notch on the 3 XL. Bought this phone as an upgrade and never looked back. Snappier, better build quality and heftier in the hand thanks to that frosted glass, and to me overall a better looking phone. I was finally able to get myself the white version, and kind of had to since Google was smoking something and thought leaving no matte black option (or even a mint color like they previously advertised), so white was my best bet. The 90hz display was a huge bonus, as is the face recognition. Those two features alone, along with the radar features makes this phone well worth the upgrade, especially if it's at a discount like Black Friday, which is when I got mine! Overall I'm happy with my purchase. Don't believe the tech reviews who are paid to stir drama and hate about this phone, it's a beast, a workhorse, it is reliable as hell, and it's the best pure android experience to date. ... show more

I've had almost all brand name available for Android devices and this one is the BEST Android experience ever. It's fast, face recognition is instantaneous (as long as you don't have a mask on!), and there is NO BLOATWARE! The only slight downside is the battery life which could be better. It will get you through the day if you're just doing calls and occasional surfing, but gaming will deplete your battery quickly. Better have a battery pack handy. Build quality is top notch, and the camera is nothing less than stellar. I'm so happy with it that I bought another one for my wife! ... show more

    • A flawed product
It was a really nice phone, face recognition was pretty good, camera too great photos, ran smoothly and quickly...but it's all moot because it feel prey to a consistent problem which I found out after purchase - the battery glitch. First it showed 50% all the time whethwe fully charged or nearly depleted it showed the same thing consistently with no know fix. I decided to work through that issue because I have a wireless charger hand most of the time so it would likely be no issue, until it stopped working altogether. got this phone for the better android experience and the incredible camera, battery ended up being better than I expected, had lower expectations because of media and tech reviewers but it can handle my whole day on a single charge so it's good, camera is also great, not a phone for everyone but it is definitely good to check out if you want that stock and smooth android ... show more

I had the Essential phone previous, which was great after all the software updates. Downside was battery life and camera was only okay. Much better with the XL pixel. Great updates to the Android system is the best feature to me.

    • Pixel is the best Android phone with great camera
For this price 64 gb storage is total crap and I know that. I have used google pixel 1, 128 gb until now. Despite many mixed feelings about this new phone eventually I'm very happy that I didn't buy Samsung phones. Google pixel is google pixel, the camera is amaizing, also the experience. I can always buy space in the cloud which is cheaper than buying 128g XL version ;-). I love my phone. ... show more

I just got this phone. I haven't had time to try the battery and the camera yet. There are major upgrades from the Pixel 2 that I had. The speakers have about double the volume from the Pixel 2, and the sound quality is much better! I haven't had a chance to really try the face unlock either. I thinks it's a bit hesitant.
