  • Pixel 2 XL 128 gig "like new" works with Verizon SIM card.
I was really nervous about this. This kind of thing never works out for me. In the past whenever I have purchased something "like new" or refurbished or anything like that it's always been a bad experience. But I got to say I'm pretty darn happy right now. This Pixel 2 XL is absolutely perfect. Like there is no way I would be able to tell the difference between this and brand-spanking-new. Not a blemish. Just perfect. This is actually the second Google pixel 2 XL phone that I have owned. The first one had a cracked screen and the battery was going bad so initially I took it to a repair shop and the guy was nice enough to explain to me that between the price of the battery and a new screen I could simply buy this model on Amazon. He was totally right. I love this phone and didn't feel the need to upgrade at all because it does everything I need it to. $109 for the 128 gig model is a steal. (description said "like new" not "renewed" as it does now but I don't know if it makes a difference) Especially considering I paid like $600 for the 64 gig version 3 years ago. There were a few hiccups starting off though so if you're going to get one of these you might want to read this part. When I initially got the phone the battery was 100% dead. It took a while to recharge to 100% and that worried me a little but I think it's just been sitting somewhere for years....... I then went through the start-up process and began updating to Android 11 ( it was actually on Android 9). Then I almost cried when it started bootlooping. Just restarting over and over again. But I did a little research and discovered that this is not uncommon with this phone if you are upgrading multiple versions of Android and also updating Google apps all at once. The phone is actually not defective, it's a software glitch. So if this happens to you don't panic....try this first. You're going to want to do a factory reset from inside the bootloader. Just Google instructions for how to get into recovery mode and then choose "“Wipe data/factory reset” start it back up and go through the start-up process and then updates all over again. I can't prove it but I actually think it has something to do with updating Google Apps after this is done. Once I did this the phone was rock solid and has been for 4 days now. I didn't even have to contact Verizon. I just popped in my SIM card and Bob's your uncle!....... I got a new phone. You may also want to calibrate the battery. Basically once you have it charged up to 100% use the phone until it shuts off on its own. Plug it back in until it's charged up to 100% without turning it on. Then turn it back on and use it as normal. After I did this the battery usage was fine. Exactly the same as I remember on my last Google pixel 2 XL when it was new. I don't think I'm ever going to purchase a new current flagship phone ever again. I'm perfectly content to just keep getting brand new condition 4 year old models for under $150. It's still an awesome powerful phone...... ... show more

  • Google Pixel 2 XL (128GB, 4GB RAM) 6.0", GSM+CDMA
For those of you not hyped by Apple of Samsung this is a great android phone. It has all of the basics and some of the newer features. The price is unbeatable. I have ATT and lo and behold when I took it in to get my SIM card the rep bleated out "oh, it's locked and we can't do anything." I went back to my car and pulled up my order to make sure I did not make a mistake and verified it was unlocked. I sent back inside to another rep and asked for a new sim card. He inserted and presto - no issues and the phone works like a champ. ... show more
