I bought seven of these sweaters. I wanted them a bit shorter so I sacrificed one and decided to wash it and fully dry it in the drier. It is the length I wanted with no major shrinkage and no damage to the yarn. So I did the same to all others. I am sensitive to wool however this sweater does not feel at all uncomfortable on my bare skin. The price has gone down now but one almost cost double before Christmas but the color is my favorite so it was worth it. I like this sweater so much I've purchased 2 in oatmeal and 1 in sage green. The oversized fit is flattering with leggings and it's really toasty. I always wear a thin T shirt under it just so I won't have to wash it often but I can see how some people may find it a little scratchy. I think it will depend on how sensitive your skin is. I was hoping to wear this over leggings as the picture makes it look long. Unfortunately it didn’t even cover my whole butt. Material is thick and super soft. Feels like it would be a warm sweater.

First, I admit that I did not read the laundering directions before purchasing, or I would not have purchased a "lay flat to dry" sweater, and yes, I washed it in hot water and dried it (both inside out), and can't tell you how happy I am. I ordered XL (41" bust) and it was at least 2 sizes too big (I e. Sleeves past my knuckles and 3 heads could fit in the collar), but I really liked the feel and quality of the yarn. Since it had some wool, I knew it would shrink, which it did. Sweater maintained its shape and although the inside of the sweater pulled slightly, the outside was perfect. I like every thing about this sweater - the length, softness, color. I just wish the waist area was a little tapered. Too baggy to wear with a belt.

Wore this sweater with leather leggings and knee boots, in 36* windy New York City weather and I did not need a jacket. This is my new favorite sweater. It’s very soft also. It wasn’t huge on me like the smaller people wear it but it looked great. Very happy
