Do you like to go camping? Do you use a tent or sleep under the stars? The author, Loretta Sponsler, has written such a fun book about camping. The highlight of this camping trip is Big Meadow Campground. Everyone wants to come to this lovely place to camp. Familiescwith children come to camp, grandparents come to camp in their new big travel trailer, married men have a guy's weekend and come to ride bikes and camp. Hikers come, those who have been hiking fir a lovely big time, they make camp. Eat a lot and go right to sleep. Boy Scouts come to camp. They help maintain the trails and work hard. They have franks and grabs for dinner. When you read this book you will discover who comes to the campground, what they do, and what they eat" The author has written a book that all children will like, and their parents will have fun reading this book. The illustrations by Olga Shevchenko, are bright, colorful and so well done. They give the reader a perfect picture of camping life. Every child reading this book will have questions about camping, and all the activities and the yummy food to eat. A perfectly fun time. Recommended. prisrob 03-22-17 ... show more

  • Great book! One copy is not enough!
Format: Paperback
I ordered 4 copies of this cute book to give as Christmas gifts to my friends' kids; however, when my family saw the book this past weekend they loved it so much I ended up giving them all of the copies I had. So, I will definitely be purchasing more copies now! This book's fun rhyming text and colorful illustrations do a wonderful job of capturing the varied experiences, adventures, and beauty of camping. My family, kids and adults alike, love this book and can't wait to play Campsite Bingo (found at the end of the book) on our next camping trip. This book will have a special place in our camper! ... show more

  • Camping book for kids
Format: Paperback
Bought for my 2 year old nephew’s birthday. Book was a little wordy and complicated for a very small child. I ended up not giving it to him and bought a different camping book. My 7 year old enjoyed it. It explains all different kinds of camping.

  • A very nice, well illustrated book
Format: Paperback
Super cute book The story had nice rhymes and covered many different angles of camping. It wasn't as short and simple as the goodnight Moon book. and that isn't a bad thing I was actually glad there was more of a story to it. The seniors, the scout groups, the getaways. I read it to four and five-year-olds and they enjoyed it. I would recommend it🙂 ... show more

  • Okay Story - Enjoyed the Campsite Bingo Game
Format: Kindle
I liked the premise to this book, especially for children who like camping or adventure or who are going camping for the first time. However, I found some of the prose layout and artwork to be awkward to read/view. However this story did come with a Campsite BINGO game that I feel is an excellent learning/observation tool for kids and parents alike. I would give this story 3.5 stars if available. ... show more

GREAT BOOK! This is a wonderful book for kids who camp and those who would like to. Especially entertaining is the fact that it covers all types of camping experienced by the wide variety of people, young and older who love to do it : little kids, adventure loving young adults, scouts, and retired older folks. All the different people you meet when you camp! One thing I really loved was the little squirrel on every page. It's great to have the kids look for him! ... show more
