I bought the Gonex 80l duffle/backpack for a week long excursion which included a flight. The bag is well designed with separate storage on both ends of the duffle and a large center storage area. There is a convenient zippered pocket at the front center of the bag for smaller items and a large mesh storage area in the flap. The bag itself is light and proved durable. It was checked on the flight down and the flight back. The high density pvc was easy to clean and water resistant. I never carried it as a backpack during the trip but the straps were well padded to carry as a duffle. I plan to make this my primary travel bag.

Used this for several overseas trips and it has held up well. I use it as a checked bag but it could be used as a carry-on as well! It has plenty of space for many items and has several pockets. The straps are nice as well and hide when you do not need them. With the material and colors, you will find your bag easily when looking for it on the baggage claim line.

For the past two years, my two friends and I have been using the GoneX 40L bag, taking it on adventures to over 15 countries. It’s been through a lot, from being checked under a plane to being fully submerged in water, and I can honestly say its water resistance is better than I expected. After writing my initial review below, the seller reached out to me and replaced my damaged bag immediately. EXCELLENT customer service! The replacement bag is made well and no problems so far. I just learned to keep this bag as a carry-on only bag or to tuck in the backpack straps if checking the bag in. Thanks Gonex customer service!!!! As a side note, I own the bigger Gonex rolling bag which is made extremely well and has taken a beating with my many travels…. No problems whatsoever with that bag. ****Amended Review- I do not recommend this bag for international travel for check in. I checked in the baggage. When I retrieved it after landing, the backpack strap was literally torn off of the bag where the nylon reinforcement is stitched to the strap. The bag does not have a normal carry handle strap on the topside which forces the baggage handler to “grip” and toss the bag by the strap. Didn’t even last one trip to Asia. Wasted good money for a flawed bag.

A friend of mine recommended this duffle, and when I saw it on sale it was an easy choice. I have used the 60L bag a number of times, including a few car camping trips and a point-to-point relay race where everyone's bags were constantly being thrown around in the back of a van. The interior of the bag is very spacious, and the organization is straightforwards: one big main compartment, two side pockets that expand into the main compartment, two zippered pockets on the top, and a small zipper on the side. If you're looking for a bag that has designated compartments for everything, this may not be for you. But if you want no frills and a few key separators, this is perfect. I find pairing this duffle with a couple stuff sacks and/or packing cubes to be a great combo.

I just received this bag to use during an upcoming move and I am already very pleased with the purchase. Although it may look cheap because the sheen of the outer shell can look a bit like cheap plastic, the product itself feels very durable but also pretty lightweight. I have seen many other Northface and Columbia bags that are similar but honestly offer nothing more than this bag in terms of quality, storage or durability. I ran the water-resistant surfaces underwater for 30 seconds and didn't have any water get through the barrier. The backpack straps are comfortable enough and the attachment points where they are fixed to the back look and feel very durable and able to withstand many uses and a full bag. There are a couple of other separate storage compartments from the main cargo area along with organizers within the main hood that allow a bit of organization in the bag. However, bear in mind, this is a duffle bag and if a massive amount of organization is what you are after, you can check out the storage cubes also by Gonex that allow maximum storage inside a big duffel like this one. Duffels aren't usually organization heavy but make up for it their storage capacity and this one has a ton of it! You can also configure the straps to be carried like a tradition duffel if you so desire. All in all, I'm very pleased with this product and I am excited about using it for many years to come. UPDATE: My wife and I love this bag so much that we actually bought another in blue! Same build, perfect quality, HUGE storage, no regrets! Do yourself a favor and get this back for your upcoming adventures!
