These little metal pirate coins are dangerously fun. I originally thought they’d just be lightweight party-table filler, but no — these things have actual heft. The moment you dump the bag out and hear that metallic “clink clink,” your brain immediately starts planning a mutiny on the living room carpet. The coins are made of metal, not the sad plastic carnival tokens that usually arrive looking like they escaped a vending machine. They’ve got uneven edges and embossed details that make them feel convincingly “ancient treasure chest found under suspiciously clean beach sand.” Up close, the designs are a little goofy, but honestly that adds to the charm. These aren’t museum replicas. They’re theatrical nonsense, and they know it. The included velvet pouch is a nice touch too. Tossing the coins into the bag makes you feel like a pirate accountant managing offshore assets. Very immersive. Size-wise, they’re bigger than a quarter and thin enough that they won’t weigh down a costume belt or game setup. They work great for tabletop games, treasure hunts, cosplay props, party favors, or bribing children into helping clean the house. “Ye who gathers Lego pieces earns two doubloons.” Durability seems solid for normal use. Unless you’re trying to reenact a cannon battle or smelt them into cursed pirate jewelry, they should hold up fine. Honestly, these are the kind of ridiculous little props that end up being more entertaining than expected. One minute you’re opening a bag of fake coins, the next you’re talking like a sea captain while making coffee.

this item was a wonderful quality item. it was made of metal and looked like real gold there were quit a lot of them in the set they were durable and it didn't scratch or get destroyed when played with. it had a decant size and it would fit in your hand. overall this was a great item and worth your money if your looking for medieval things.

My son is obsessed with coins and collecting special ones. He was stoked when I gave him his own bag of pirate booty! I feel better letting him play with this than with dealt money. They come in their own velvet bag to keep them safe as well. * When I interact with a product, generally I rate based on the following: * 1 Star: The product is terrible, not suitable for its intended use, or the seller was deceptive. This funny money isn't fooling anyone, but still fun to play with. First impression, I like that they come in a little brown velvet storage bag which goes along with the pirate theme. As I pulled out the coins I was surprised by how thin each of them are. The diameter size is fine, but I've personally never held a real gold Spanish doubloon, so after browsing some pictures online I saw that real ones were definitely thicker than these. The designs on them also look a lil goofy, but again, this is funny money so I wasn't expecting genuine replicas. The coins clink together nicely for that cool jingly ASMR money sound. My kids think they're cool and have added them to their treasure box. Unless you're putting them in a forge to melt them down for...whatever, these should be durable enough to last with normal play. I think these are neat and can be used for cosplay, treasure hunts, or even some tabletop games that involve fake money. Overall, these aren't going to fool your friends into thinking you dived down to the depths of the ocean to recover ancient coins, but if you're just wanting some fun to play with novelty coins, these will work just fine.

This is a good quality set of solid metal doubloon style coins that comes with a velvet storage bag. These are perfect for kids to use as treasure when they're playing pirate dress up. They'd also be perfect as props for fantasy role-playing games. Because they are solid metal they have a significant weight in your hand, which feels great. They're a little on the thinner side, so if you tried you could definitely bend them, but they're sturdy enough that it's not going to happen accidentally. All of the die cuts and embossed detail look great and are clear and crisp. None of the coins were lopsided or miscut. The box that they came in was a little smashed, but because the coins are in the storage bag they still didn't dump out everywhere. The set of 35 coins is still a good value for the price, but if I got more I would probably go for the set of 100 coins instead, because it's an even better value.

This is a clever idea. You can see from the pictures that the "doubloons" are a little larger than a quarter, and also a little thinner. The gold plating is realistically fun, and the little black pouch easily holds all 35 coins. I'm sure these are fun to use in certain board games, but I plan to hide them somewhere and set up a treasure hunt for my young grandsons! The coins have a satisfying *clink* to them as they jingle together, though I suspect the sound is a little more lightweight than the real deal would be! It's a small desideratum, and not something to complain about, but I would have enjoyed a leather pouch over the black felt one that was included. But there was a pouch! If you are going to put out the money for these anyway, consider spending less than half again as much to get three times the number of coins.

I live in a coastal town with lots of pirate history, so I have an excuse to dress up like a pirate at least a few times per year for pirate festivals and events. I had to order these coins to add to my pirate costumes! I'm not sure what I'll do with them yet, but they might be fun to hand out to kids (or adults!) when I'm in costume. They aren't very realistic looking if you really examine them, but they're cute and a lot of fun to jingle around in their little drawstring bag, so I expect to have a great deal of fun with them.

The price is a good value as this is a high-quality product that will last a long time. I would absolutely buy these again.
