Update: Godora contacted me and offered a refund. They’ve also assured me that this is 100% Tung oil and is in fact, food safe. I suggested that they update the packaging to make it clear that it is. I just can’t put anything on my products that could harm my own customers and they understood that. It’s been several years since a company has reached out to address the concerns left in a review. Seems like they actually care. I wish I would’ve contacted them first. That’s a rule of mine to address the issue with the proper staff or manager before leaving bad reviews. They often don’t know and can’t fix issues if they aren’t addressed and it isn’t fair to leave bad reviews without them making it right first. So I will update my rating for them. The description says food safe but nowhere on the label does it state that it is. In fact, it says “WARNING! Can not edible. Avoid direct contact with children.” Whatever that means. It’s also a product of China. So who knows if it’s even really Tung oil. It’s probably sewer grease since that seems to be a huge black market industry there. This may be fine for things that don’t come into direct contact with food but that’s what I bought it for.

I like that this tung oil is food grade so I won't have to worry about any chemicals getting into my food. The oil has given my butcher block island a sweet light amber look which is very attractive.

I applied over oil stained very old wood. Container did not mention stain usage, but I went forward with application. Seems to coat well. However, this tung oil will take weeks to dry. Perhaps other tung oil products contain additives to speed up drying (not pure tung oil). If you are not in a hurry, perhaps pure tung oil is the way to go for an old restoration project. By the way, 32 oz will coat a lot of wood.
