I'm a landlord. 60% of my rental properties have light stain natural wood finishes. Tenants wear the finish thin with water damage or oil used in cooking near knobs. They're harder on cabinetry than owners who want cabinetry to last 20 years. After cleaning the surfaces as best I can without damaging the wood a few coats of Tung Oil initially rubbed over bare sports with two subsequent coats of Tung oil over the entire cabinet produces a durable soft finish that will last until lease renewal. Cautionary note: Never use alkaline cleaners on oak cabinets. It will darken/blacken the wood grain.

This was a good tung oil. The only problem I had with it was a rat chewed a hole in the container the first night I had the oil. I lost the entire container of oil. If I can buy more I will stick the oil in something to stop the rat.
