These glasses a beautiful and just the right size to hold a 7.5 can of soda WITH ICE. They are heavy with a nice solid feel (the "feel" of a drinking glass is important!), and the color is perfect. When I changed my dinnerware to pink I made that selection in a day, but I shopped for glasses for weeks (and returned/donated some). I have no regrets about these, though, and still really get a kick out of them! They are perfect! Kind of fancy for every day, but that's okay. I'm 71. How many days are left? I used to buy plastic tumblers for everyday use. After 6 months of use, the plastic would crack at the bottom of the tumblers. So, I switched to glass. I wanted glasses that were durable. These have held up very well in the dishwasher. They are dishwasher safe. But if your spouse uses lipstick, the brand of lipstick she uses could damage the glasses and leave a dull appearance.
